Level-5’s ghost catching battler has been selling like crazy!
Yōkai Watch, the Nintendo 3DS ghost catching RPG from Level-5, has shipped one million units in Japan.
Released on July 11, 2013, sales for the title have increased since the airing of the anime this past January. In 2013, the title sold nearly 300,000 units over the period of roughly five months and has sold over 400,000 units this year alone. Although rumored, there is currently no official release dates for Western markets.

The next Skylanders game lets you trap and then play as the villains, including the vile Kaos.

The in-progress Kickstarter game will come to 3DS, too, in addition to six other platforms.
Cult County is coming to 3DS if their Kickstarter is funded, developer Renegade Kid confirmed in a recent Kickstarter update.
After a load of retweets and favorites of the tweet below, the 3DS will be available to choose as your platform of choice, so long as the minimum goal of $580,000 is reached.

A new Fatal Frame game is coming to Wii U in Japan from Nintendo and Tecmo Koei.
Like most of the recent entries in the series, Nintendo will publish and Temco Koei will develop. The series will also branch out into several other types of media, including a live-action movie and a original novel due later this year in Japan.

Yes, Super Mario Bros. 3 is finally out!
This week's focus seems to be squarely on Virtual Console releases. After months of being mum on the subject, April seems to be the month that a bunch of major games are making their Wii U and Nintendo 3DS debuts. For example, there's a little art house title called Super Mario Bros. 3 making it's solemn, low key debut this week. There's also a batch of new Game Boy Advance games coming out today as well. Using carrot guns to win a carrot trophy only makes sense.
Machete Brawl, the follow-up to q-bit's Machete, is expected to release later this year on the Wii U.
The game is about an islander family who sets up a rather interesting tournament. The prize? A Mighty Golden Carrot Trophy! Players will fight their way to the golden carrot through a variety of stages, with different weapons and bonuses included throughout. The game will also support up to 5 players for some fact-paced multiplayer action.

Own Famicom Remix? You can get a discount on the sequel!
Gamers in Japan who own Famicom Remix on Wii U will be able to receive a discount from 1,543 yen to 1,300 yen for Famicom Remix 2 on the eShop between April 24 and April 30.
The sale works the other way around, too. For gamers that purchase Famicom Remix 2 in during the campaign and do not yet have a copy of Famicom Remix, they can then purchase the original game for 1,300 yen. The sale is currently exclusive to the Wii U eShop in Japan.

DrinkBox Studios has announced their next game, Severed.
A non-linear action-fantasy with a warrior heroine, it's explained as a cross between Mega Man, Infinity Blade, and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. The game seems to rely on a couple of core features, including world exploration and a control scheme reliant gesture-based inputs. For example, swiping will perform both magical spells and physical attacks.

Expiring licenses means no more Peter Pepper.
BurgerTime World Tour, the WiiWare sequel to the classic game, will soon be removed from the Wii Shop Channel due to expiring licensing agreements, according to publisher MonkeyPaw Games.
Unlike other versions of the game, World Tour will not be discounted on the Wii. The publisher stated that owners of World Tour "should still" be able to download the game even after it is removed from the shop.

The patent in question was issued February 18, 2003, and is for "a computer providing multiple display capability where one display presents the current document and another display may show a true display of a previously opened document."
