Nintendo is not forgetting about the two-dimensional DS just yet.

Some previously purchased DSiWare titles will be transferable to the 3DS.
Nintendo has revealed that consumers will have the ability to move DSiWare purchases over to the 3DS at the recent Japanese 3DS event.
While Nintendo has yet to reveal how the transfer system will work, the company did note that some software will not be able to make the trip over to the new system. In addition, players will only be able to redownload their DSi Ware software a set number of times.

The handheld game finally makes the jump to the home console.
Among the excitement of all the 3DS announcements, Nintendo also revealed a surprising Wii game for next year, Rhythm Tengoku.
The short gameplay clip showed some interesting new rhythm minigames including; stabbing beans with forks, Samurai chopping down enemies, and two guys playing tennis in airplanes - flying over what might possibly be Wuhu Island from Wii Sports Resort.

Nintendo confirmed Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles will be downloadable.
At their press event today, Nintendo announced that the 3DS will feature an online store similar to Wii's Virtual Console. Titles for the Game Boy and Game Boy Color platforms will be available for download, and Nintendo used Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX as example titles for the service.

Nintendo's newest handheld will retail for ¥25,000 ($300) in Japan. Also, it's coming out in March in North America and Europe.
At their 3DS press event today, Nintendo announced the first details concerning the launch of their newest handheld. The 3D-enabled device will launch in Japan on February 26, 2011. It will be priced at ¥25,000, or approximately $300 USD; this price is confirmed for Japan only. The 3DS will be available in two colors, "Cosmic Black" and "Aqua Blue".

An early look at Famitsu reveals new 3DS games.
Andriasang's weekly advance report from Japanese magazines includes coverage on Nintendo 3DS titles from this week's Famitsu. While the information has not yet been verified, more will be known when the magazine is on store shelves.
The table of contents shows a feature story for Samurai Warriors Chronicles, previously known as Samurai Warriors 3DS. The name change was made during TGS.

Nintendo of America have confirmed a glitch in Metroid: Other M that prevents players from progressing due to a permanently locked door.
In the Sector 3 area, if after a certain sequence of events, you backtrack to a previous room rather than moving forward through the next door, a certain door later in the area will not open. This does not happen if you proceed normally.

A Sunday tabloid newspaper prints the Japanese 3DS launch date for November.
The Sunday edition of Bild, a German tabloid newspaper has printed a Japanese release date for the Nintendo 3DS as November 11, 2010. It also claims a European release for the handheld in Spring 2011 with a price of around 200 Euros ($270).
Launch titles suggested are Mario Kart 3DS, Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle, and Ocarina of Time 3DS.

The English translation of the special edition of Iwata Asks from September 14 is now available. A GameStop product page reveals the new bundle.
GameStop's product page for FlingSmash revealed that Nintendo will be releasing a special bundle version. FlingSmash, priced at $49.95, will come with a black Wii Remote Plus, a new version of the Wii Remote with the MotionPlus gyroscope already integrated into it. FlingSmash requires the MotionPlus for its gameplay, turning the Wii Remote into a paddle.

The content offered as DLC in Japan will be on-disc for the US release.
At a Samurai Warriors 3 game night today, NWR learned that the downloadable content for the Japanese release will be included on the disc for the North American version. The Nintendo game page also states the inclusion of the DLC content (Historical Mode).
