The clock has struck midnight on the East Coast. 3DS has hit America.
3D is now in the palm of your hand as Nintendo's newest handheld, the 3DS, is in stores now. Alongside the system, there are 16 launch games, including three from Nintendo.
At Nintendo's grand launch event in New York City, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime reiterated the May eShop-enabling system update and riled up the crowd.

The Green Lantern heads into the third dimension this June on the Nintendo 3DS.
To coincide with the release of the new Green Lantern film this June, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment have announced Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters for all major gaming platforms, including Wii, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS.
The 3DS version of the game is designed to take advantage of the system's stereoscopic visuals, and will be playable in 3D as well as 2D.

Ubisoft is bringing the Petz franchise to the Nintendo 3DS this June.
Today, Ubisoft revealed Petz Fantasy 3D and Zoo Mania 3D for the Nintendo 3DS, both of which are scheduled to release in North America in June.

Gameloft announces its first downloadable game for Nintendo's new handheld.
While the Nintendo 3DS has launched around the world without the eShop present, that has not stopped Gameloft from announcing its first game for the service: Let's Golf 2.
Let's Golf 2 is the sequel to Let's Golf, available on both the DSiWare service as well as for iOS. The game, which is a port of the iOS version of Let's Golf 2, is expected to roll out alongside of the eShop later this year.

Having sold in excess of a million copies on launch day, Nintendo announced that Pokémon Black and Pokémon White have reached a new threshold via Twitter.

The Sims arrive in Japan late next week.
Electronic Arts announced that The Sims 3DS will arrive on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on April 1 following a delay due to the natural disasters that struck the country.
The game will be available for ¥4,980. The Sims 3DS is a launch title in North America and Europe.

The sequel to the NES classic will arrive on the Japanese WiiWare service this summer.
The recently announced sequel River City Ransom has now been confirmed for a WiiWare release.
Initially announced for the PC and another unspecified console, today the developer Miracle Kidz announced that the unspecified console is in fact the Wii.
The game will hit the Japanese WiiWare service sometime this summer, much earlier than the PC version which will arrive sometime next year.

The Square Enix RPG is finally hitting the Virtual Console.
Today Nintendo released a list of games that are heading to the Japanese Virtual Console in April.
Three games will be released on the service next month, led by the highly-anticipated Chrono Trigger from Square Enix. The game, which was released for the SNES in 1995, will run at a premium price of 900 Nintendo Points, 100 higher than most SNES games, but standard for RPGs in Japan.

Nintendo of Europe will bring Tecmo Koei's new fighter to European territories.
Today Nintendo of Europe and Tecmo Koei announced that Nintendo will distribute Dead of Alive Dimensions in Europe later this year.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nintendo will take care of the sales, marketing and distribution of the game in Europe, while Tecmo Koei will remain as the publisher. A similar arrangement is in place with Capcom for Super Street Fighter IV 3D.

Famitsu has revealed the box art for Capcom's Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.

The upcoming crossover title may appear on Nintendo's 3D handheld.
Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono believes that a 3DS port of the crossover game Street Fighter X Tekken should happen.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Yoshinori Ono expressed his thoughts on the possibility of a 3DS port.
"I think that's an amazing thing. The next step would be to have Street Fighter x Tekken, which is the celebration of all top fighting gamers' dreams in one, to be on 3DS, where you can play anywhere you want."
