The HD TV revolution took the Big N by surprise.
Miyamoto "wanted to go HD sooner," according to a recent interview with 4Gamer translated by KameDaniRyuu.
His reasoning behind holding off on making the Wii HD was that Nintendo thought "it was going to take some time for HD televisions to become common," but that "HD became more common about 2 to 3 years earlier than we had anticipated."

Batman will also sport some sweet new skins.
Long time Batman villain Copperhead will join previously revealed assassins Deathstroke, Deadshot, and Bane during the hunt for Batman in this years Batman: Arkham Origins.
Revealed by WB Games today, Copperhead will show up not as the familiar male antagonist in a snake suit that has been around since late 60's, but rather as a quick and agile female. A female Copperhead was also recently introduced in DC's New 52.

Will these ever exist and come to Wii U?
Namco Bandai has filed for three different "Tales of" trademarks in Japan, according to the website, Hachima Kiko.
The three trademarks, Tales of Zestoria, Tales of Creales and Tales of Catastora all represent possible new entries in the Tales series. The last entry in the series to show up on a Nintendo platform was the 3DS remake of Tales of the Abyss.

Eight 3D Classics games from Sega are coming to the 3DS eShop in North America and Europe soon, according to Sega and the Nintendo Direct from earlier today.
The titles are, similar to Nintendo's 3D Classics from 2011 and 2012, remade ports of arcade and Genesis games with stereoscopic 3D added.

Slash the price on Wonderful 101 if you buy Pikmin digitally.
European Wii U owners who purchase the digital version of Pikmin 3 from the eShop will be entitled to a 30% price reduction on Platinum Games' upcoming title, The Wonderful 101.
This promotion will run from July 26, the launch day of Pikmin 3 in Europe, to September 21. The discount code will be redeemable upon the release of The Wonderful 101 on August 23 and will be eligible until the aforementioned date in September.

This holiday season will be filled will adventure and parties.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Mario Party (3DS) will both be released this November on the Nintendo 3DS in North America.
This news comes from today's Nintendo Direct Mini. More concrete dates have not yet been given for either title, so for now fans will have to make due with knowing they will have both titles before November's end.

Midwest 3DS owners, rejoice!
Nintendo is expanding Nintendo Zone "in a few weeks," to over 29,000 locations across North America and 25,000 locations throughout Europe.
Nintendo Zone's new StreetPass relay service allows users to StreetPass with the last user to visit that location, which will hopefully allow users to take greater advantage of StreetPass functionality.

Pikmin 3 sits on top of the sales charts in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Pikmin 3 sold through 93,000 units after just one day on the market, according to Media Create Sales from the week of July 8 to July 14.
Pikmin 3 launched in Japan on July 13 and jumped to the top spot in the software charts after just 24 hours. The amount of copies sold digitally remains unknown as Media Create data covers only physical sales.

40 returning levels will greet you when starting up Rayman Legends.
Rayman Legends will contain 40 levels from 2011's Rayman Origins as well as a new multiplayer mode, Kung Foot, according to game designer Michel Ancel.
The 40 returning levels will be available right out of the box, and can be completed at any time. There are a variety of stages included, all of which have been graphically updated to match Legends' style.

It's finally official, get your thumbs ready for August 1!
Cloudberry Kingdom will be coming to the Wii U on August 1, according to an email from Pwnee Studios.
This is after some confusion earlier in the week when Ubisoft stated that it would hit on July 30, and developer Pwnee Studios told NWR that the date was "not quite accurate, but not far off."

Pokémon Rumble U will be coming to the Wii U eShop in Europe on August 15 and North America on August 23. The figures will be exclusively sold at GameStop stores in North America, priced at $4 a piece. As of now, there is no confirmed distribution method for the figures in Europe.

Could we be seeing more of our favorite fish with a human face?
Nintendo has filed for two trademarks that may indicate a Seaman revival.
The registered titles are: Mysterious Pet: Legend of the Fish With A Human Face and Mysterious Partner: Legend of the Fish With A Human Face.
While Seaman is not explicitly named, the rumors of a new Seaman game combined with these oddly specific trademarks may very well indicate a revival. There is currently no official word from Nintendo.
