Capcom COO believes that Sony needs to release a new PSP in order to compete with Nintendo’s 3DS.
Capcom Europe COO and former Sony Computer Entertain of Europe president David Reeves told Gamesindustry.biz that Sony needs to respond to Nintendo’s 3DS quickly in order to stay in the handheld game, and that the follow up to the PSP needs to happen in the next 12 months for the sake of developers and publishers.

While the PSP is still the best selling system the Wii tops the PS3 in this week’s Media Create hardware charts.
Following Media Create’s software sales chart, they have released the hardware sales chart for the week of June 7 through June 13. The top selling console was Sony’s PSP, which sold 21,662 units. The top selling home console for the week, however, was the Wii at 20,588 units sold. For the first time in weeks the Wii has topped the PlayStation 3 in sales.

n-Space confirmed that there will be a DS version of GoldenEye, and it will be developed by them.
Activision announced a new GoldenEye game for Wii during Nintendo's press conference, and today, n-Space announced that they're working on the DS version.
"One parting announcement," n-Space said on their Facebook. "At E3 this year, Activision and Nintendo announced GoldenEye as a Wii exclusive. Not quite. We're happy to confirm that a DS version is in the works at n-Space. More on this next week!"

Satoru Iwata reveals a possible new feature to Nikkei.
In a recent Nikkei interview, Satoru Iwata elaborated on the planned uses of the 3DS' ability to automatically connect to nearby wireless access points and download information.
Similar to the newspaper subscriptions for Amazon's Kindle, one of the possible uses could be the automatic download of newspaper and magazine articles.

Show attendance was as expected, but that's a good thing.
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has released the attendance figures for E3 2010.
45,600 attendees came to the show from around the world, which is right in line with the ESA's 45,000-attendee estimate. There were roughly 300 exhibitors in the Los Angeles Convention Center, and retail participation in the show was up 20 percent.

The franchise director reveals some new details about the upcoming 3DS RPG.
Tetsuya Nomura, director of the Kingdom Hearts franchise, has stated that the upcoming Kingdom Hearts game for the Nintendo 3DS will not be a remake of any previously existing game in the series.
The game is most likely being developed by the same team behind Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for PSP. The previous game in the series, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, was developed by h.a.n.d. and released on the Nintendo DS last year.

Nintendo and Monolith’s Wii-exclusive title sees a healthy debut, while Super Mario Galaxy 2 is still seeing good numbers.
The Media Create sales chart for the week of June 7 through the 13 places Nintendo and Monolith Software's Wii RPG Xenoblade at the top of the charts. The RPG title sold 83,000 copies in its debut week. The previous chart topper, Super Mario Galaxy 2, experienced its first drop since its May 27 debut in Japan. The game sold 73,000 copies, pushing it to the half-million mark (519,000 copies have been sold since launch).

It looks like you won't have to swap cartridges any more.
In a move that mimics the Xbox 360's ability to install games to its hard drive, Nikkei is reporting that Nintendo's 3DS system will allow users to copy cartridge-based games to internal memory.
Once a game is "dumped" to the system's memory, it can be launched by selecting it from a menu listing the games stored on the system. Users will no longer have to carry their cartridges with them on the road in order to play multiple games.
