The sequel to the Wii-exclusive original is hitting Wii and DS in February.
THQ revealed a February 22, 2011 release date for de Blob 2 for Wii and DS.
The game, developed by Blue Tongue on Wii and HalfBrick on DS, continues the story of the lovable blob as he fights for the color revolution against the villainous Comrade Black. In the sequel, you will be able to jump with a button instead of a motion, which was an issue most gamers had with the first game in the series. It also adds co-op and more gameplay variety.

Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime believes the Wii has many more systems to sell.
The successor to the Wii is not a must for 2011, according to Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime in an interview with Kotaku.
"As we sit here today we're saying the Wii has many, many more units to sell," Fils-Aime said. "After we've reached an installed base of 45 million here in the U.S., we can have a conversation about the next generation."

Players that pre-order Sora's latest adventure will receive a special item for their DS.

European players can obtain a black Wii along with a black Wii Wheel.
Nintendo of Europe has announced a new Wii bundle for the region. Dubbed the Mario Kart Wii Pack, the limited edition bundle will include a black Wii console, a black Wii Remote Plus, a black Nunchuck, a copy of Mario Kart Wii, a copy of Wii Sports, a black Wii Wheel, and finally Donkey Kong Original Edition pre-installed onto the system.

Dragon Quest IX is one of many Black Friday deals.

The sequel to last year's zombie title could be underway.
According to Nintendo Life's sources who are close to Sega, the sequel to House of the Dead: Overkill is in development. The original title was developed by London-based development house Headstrong Games, and they were pitching the sequel to Sega some months ago. As previously reported, the title could be a multi-platform one, appearing on the Wii as well as the PlayStation 3, using the PS Move controller.

Super Mario Collection and Pokemon Black and White make way for two new chart toppers.
After top position last week, Super Mario Collection finds itself down the charts as it dips from 1 to 3 in its second week. This drop is due to a 61 percent decline in sales. Still, it logs a larger second week than both Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, which really shows how popular the 2D Mario games are, as it is a port of SNES game. It finished the week with sales of 119,485.

First six months were still profitable, but sales below forecasts.
In their earnings announcement, Square Enix announced that they saw a drop in sales and earnings for the first six months of 2010. Figures provided for the second quarter show that sales went down to 68,056 million yen ($836 million) from the 90,561 million yen ($1.11 billion) from the year prior. Income fell from 13,091 million to 5,712 million yen ($161 million to $70 million).
