The error seems to have something to do with faulty flash memory.
An error code on certain Wii U systems are leaving some systems bricked, reports are circulating.
Error Code 160-0103 has popped up on certain systems, deleting save data and rendering games unplayable. A similar error code (160-1710) persists even in the data management menu, bricking the system.... Read more...

The father of video games has passed away at 92.
Ralph Baer, widely considered the father of video games, has passed away at the age of 92.
Baer, whose family fled Nazi Germany before the Kristallnacht attacks, is credited with inventing one of the first home video game systems. What was originally called the "brown box" would later be known as the Magnavox Odyssey, released in 1972.

New footage of the upcoming The Legend of Zelda Wii U title closed off The Game Awards tonight.
In it, Zelda Producer Eiji Aonuma and Shigeru Miyamoto demonstrated Link riding trusted steed Epona through a variety of situations. From what it appears, Anouma's promise of the upcoming Zelda title to be a open world experience looks to be accurate. They also demonstrated the map area detailed on the Wii U GamePad's screen.

2015 is the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. and Mario Maker will celebrate in style.

Fire Emblem will be heading to the Wii U eShop tomorrow for $7.99.
Released in Japan as Fire Emblem: The Sword of Flame, the original Game Boy Advance game came out on November 3, 2003. It was the first in the series to arrive in North America, and it's popularity has brought most of the following entries in the series to the western world as well.

Coming soon to fill the retro-inspired hole in our hearts left in the wake of Shovel Knight.
Super Icon Ltd. recently announced via Twitter that their retro-inspired, 2-D platformer Life of Pixel will be coming to Wii U soon.
Originally released on Mac and PC, Life of Pixel offers over 80 levels and unlockable content and features a large variety of level designs, gameplay and power-ups. While the graphics and sound bring to memory the old days of the NES, gameplay gives a wider picture of other platform styles as well.

With the arrival of the New Nintendo 3DS, the previous model's end is imminent.
Nintendo will end production on its line of regular 3DS XL (or LL in Japan) handhelds very soon. This was revealed on the company's Japanese website earlier in the week.
All the color variations: Mint White, Black, Blue Black, Pink White, Red Black, Silver Black and White will no longer be manufactured. All the other versions of the standard Nintendo 3DS XL have been discontinued already and will not return.

Developers elaborate on story, single-player mode and more.
Recently Splatoon developers have taken to Twitter to share some details and new information regarding the new Wii U title releasing next year.
In single player mode, or "Hero Mode", it's the Squids versus the Octopi. A mysterious squid-man has discovered the Octopus Army Corps secret plan to invade the surface world from their underground facility. It's up to your Squid hero to infiltrate their base and take them down.
