1. That's the worst excuse for a port ever. You might is well make a new game. I would actually prefer it.

2. Psychopaths don't look scary/tough either. I remember a video where a psychopath was push a shopping cart. The dude that was playing shot him in the face like 9 times with a sniper rifle.................from 15 feet away.

I always thought that Dead Rising was kinda odd for having 100s of Zombies you are trying to avoid because they are undead and trying to eat you...but the REAL thing to worry about was psychopaths...just seemed odd to me.

Let's judge the final game, when it is available, we don't know that psychopaths haven't been changed to be harder to beat and scarier...I just want to judge the game on its on merits, I am looking at it as part port and part new game and new experience.

I am actually glad that instead of just making it a watered down port (which it would have been with less Zombies and same gameplay) they are trying to tweak and change the game experience to better fit the Wii, and evolve the original game concept.

1)They are keeping the time limit idea, but tweaking it where time stops so you can experience the entire game without having to replay the game.  This is just BETTER DESIGN.  Yes the original was unique, but it kept you from experience the entire game without multiple plays and that is just artificial replay that is frustrating.

2)Less Zombies balanced by smart and faster Zombies.  Yes, there were 100s of Zombies in the Xbox 360 version, but it sometimes hurt the control of the game, and just moving throughout the game was a hassle.  I think this will give a good balance experience.

3)I enjoy shooting Zombies and if they are going to make the shooting engaging and enjoyable (more so than it was in the original) then adding additional focus with firing weapons may not be bad.

To me this will feel like a revisioning of the original game and not just a port.

Still a remake of a nearly 3 year old game. Can we please get some brand new games Capcom? I'd even take Angela Boobs McGee Miller in a RE4:WE styled game. She may not be my favorite RE character, but at least it'd be new, dammit!

I know Capcom is developing original titles on the Wii. I'm just saying that ports/remakes on the Wii are usually lose-lose for the console. If we support them, we get more ports/remakes. If we don't, we get nothing. Developers need to stop all the CTRL+C and CTRL+V on the Wii. It's bullsh*t. The Wii is market leader everywhere. It (we) deserve(s) more than recycled content.

I agree. While I do like the remakes, it needs to be balanced with new stuff as well. At least Sega is starting to do that with HOTD2/3 and now HOTD: O. But it is pretty silly to base future success on a port of an old game that most of the target audience more then likely played! What is most funny though is that Capcom has tested the market twice, with RE:4 and RE: UC and both games did extremely well.

To be honest with you guys, this version of Dead Rising actually looks like more fun. Maybe it was just me, but I thought the original was a pretty damn mediocre game.

In this version, they dropped picture taking since it was useless anyway in the last game, they reduced the zombie count (too many were on the screen in the last one anyway) and they axed the jumping. While this exclusion is disappointing, realistically, it won't alter gameplay in the least.

On the other hand, they made the entire game more linear, which should make the game more fun and interesting since, in the original, all of the side quests got really overwhelming and annoying, and they added Wii pointer support, RE style.

I predict this game will also be mediocre, but I'm guessing it should actually be more fun to play on the whole than the last one. The entire allure of grab lots of **** and kill lots of zombies dies in about an hour or two anyway, so given the core of the game is more focused now, I'm guessing the overall experience will be better.

Stogi's vehement hatred of the game is having a kind of reverse-psychological effect on me and making me want the game more.

I have this for the 360.  The aiming is awkward, the text is annoyingly small and the saving areas are so far away.  It's kind of fun.

It looks like most of the iffy spots will be fixed in the wii version, so who knows?

Correction: A mediocre remake of a game that came out 3 years ago that will be better but still mediocre.

Cripes, what the hell is the point of this then? You know what's still a better solution? A brand new game that's awesome, a real Resident Evil game, and potentially includes many Jill sandwiches... the sexy kind.
