wow, mouse you are really stuck on yourself.  people like you make this place a complete waste of time.

as for agent, his whole "nintendo rules and sony sucks" bit was exactly that, an act!  am i the only one smart enough to see that.  i thought he was fun.  mainly because he made self-righteous computer nerds angry.  it was great.

Mouse, you act the same way agent seven did.  You are always right and everyone else is wrong.  you always have to have the last word.  why dont you lay off Clockwork and quit swearing?

ClockworkT. I read that same article.  You are right.  It did seem like Miyamoto was being "coy."
Like he knew something bad about the PSP, but wasn't saying.

Did anyone here actually read anything from this thread?  Seriously.  I have put at least a HALF DOZEN links in this thread.

Also, Agent Seven was a character that someone was playing, not a real personality.  Sort of like a cartoon villain....We spoke on many occasions and I support his cause entirely.  There needs to be more hardcore Nintendo fans who are not affraid to say the things that piss people off.

Lastly, the real point of this thread was to do what people like Canuck are doing all the time.  And that is to post a "Doom" thread about another system and then to see who responded.  Just as I expected, cannuck was the first to say the thread was BS.  Even though I am sure he never followed the link and actually read the article, which PROVES my claim.  Also, he's the one who posts the same EXACT style "Doom" threads about Nintendo all the freakin time.  Isn't it funny to see how he responded....

Anyway for all of the slow witted folks out there.(Like you manuited)  Here are the links that I have supplied multiple times in this thread.  I now some of you kids are not exactly eduacated, but why don't you actually READ the articles in the links before you say "I don't believe you."

HERE'S THE LINKS:

Here's the article about sony's recent financial loses. Quite substantial losses indeed.

http://www.suntimes.com/output/business/cst-fin-sony21.html

Here's a link to doozy of an article that talks about how sony is cutting 20,000 jobs. It also mentions that sony's biggest comeptitors are quickly gaining ground.

Here is an article from earlier in the year concerning sony's failure in the mobile phone business.

I can provide many, many more if you wish....

General Gaming / RE:X-Box Live discontinued?
« on: October 25, 2003, 07:17:57 PM »
Look, I understand your reluctance to accept what I am saying.  There are so many baseless accusations on the web, it's hard to know what to belive.

Here's the thing, I'm actually a reatail buyer for a certain chain that shall reamin nameless.  I know for a fact that my chain will no longer be carrying any online products.   Meaning LIVE Kits, Ps2 modems, and GameCube modems.  No big suprise w/ the GC modems, as they only have one game.  LIVE however, is one of the biggest selling points of the X-Box.  Once my chain discontinued future orders of LIVE kits, I started to ask around to all of the other buyers I know.
I know qute a few, and several of us attned the E3 convention together every year.

As for now, I know that Target's everywhere will no longer be carrying X-Box live kits. Also the same goes for the Wal-Mart super centers.  Plus my "music and more" chain stopped carrying this stuff during the summer.  Sorry I can't provide a link, but I truly expect that this info will be wide spread soon.

Until then take a trip to a Target or a WalMart Super Center.  I have seen X-Box live kits for as low as $7.44.  (Target always ends the clearance price in .40 or .44)

go to your local target and check the clearance isle.  Target employee's are far more well informed than Wal-Mart employees.

I must say this, I hope it doesn't sound like a flame but, do you honestly think that you can get all of your information from the web?

Yuji Miyamoto is not Agent7, to answer you first question.

let me say this AGAIN for the slow people, I can not provide a link to the information reguarding the PSP and it's major production and design difficulties.

do you people honestly think I get all of my video game industry infromation from the web?  seriouslly, the web is the biggest tool of dis-information there is.  somethings you have to find out in person...

although, if you do a search for info reguarding the psp and it's problems, you may find a tantalizing clue here of there.  there was the hint miymoto dropped about the "problems," among other things....

Nintendo Gaming / RE: GCN is still in 2nd worldwide, right?
« on: October 24, 2003, 05:54:35 PM »
All I can tell you is that the retail chain I work for sells 3 times as many GC's as it does X-Box systems.  And ever since the $99 price drop took effect, we have been seeling even more.  Even our Ps2 sales have taken a dive.  A serious dive.  we have not sold a ps2 in almost a month.

Let me just say this, the company I work for is not the place one would usually buy a game system, where more of a "music and more" chain.  It makes me wonder how places like EB and TRU are doing with their GC sales.  Several of the TRU's near my home were sold out of GC's for about a week after the price drop.

However, I'll look for whatever numbers I can find, why don't you do the same BW?

(EB = Electronics Boutique,  TRU = Toys R Us)

Spending money and making money are two entirely seperate things.

Also here's a great quote from Perrin Kaplan:

"When we increase our market share, it's not from Microsoft. It's from Sony." says Kaplan.

Many people "in the know" predict that sony will lose at leat %60 of it's current installed base during the next round of video game wars.  Ouch!

So let's get this straight, first sony posts an enourmous financial loss, then they cut 20,000 jobs, psp is having serious production problems, and every day sony loses more of their market share.  Seriously, it's not looking good for soon to be former, no#1.

As for the psp info, sorry I can't post a link.  What I know, and what many others are starting to find out, can best be considered "insider information."  The kind that get's people sent to jail on wall steet.  I'm just here to spread the info you can't read elsewhere.

be seeing you.

Take a trip to your local target and check the clearance isle.  Then ask the person who runs the video game dept.  Or, if you wish, call one of you areas Wal-Mart super centers.

There will be a new X-Box system bundle that include the "Live Kit" but many reatail outlets will not be carrying the standard "Live kit."

X-Box and GameCube even?  Not hardly, GC is a strong second.  Check the reatil numbers.

Job cuts and huge financial losses are bad news for everyone in the company, including SCEA.

I predict SCEA will be the next arm of sony to post huge losses.

And let me just say this; if the rumors are true that the PSP is having serious production and design difficulties, well, the future doesn't look good for sony....

I've heard about the re-launch, but the real news is that some retail outlets will not be carrying the new. repackaged X-Box Live kit.

I've heard that Wal-Mart Super centers, Target, Virgin MegaStore, and possibly even Kay-Bee Toys.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Some people want their games shorter...
« on: October 23, 2003, 02:48:06 PM »
I'd like to see some of the posts become shorter.  Who reads all this?

The only game that I have played recently that could have been shorter is the ULTRA HORRIBLE Star War: Knights of the Old Republic!  The most over-reated RPG in HISTORY!!  I can't belive I actually played it to the end.  What a peice of overblown crap!

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Sales would be better on PS2 or Xbox!
« on: October 23, 2003, 02:45:56 PM »
It's different for Nintendo, they are suppossedly, in last place.

What about when your system has "suppossedly" over 50 million units world wide and you still sell under 50,000?  That's just embarassing.  Most ps2 software is junk.  My ps2 sits in front of me gathering dust and acting as a stand for my Dreamcast.

General Gaming / RE: Perfect Dark Zero to come out for XBox 2

Here's strange logic for you.  Which of the 5 or 6 games Bill mentioned would do better, sales-wise, than Perfect Dark Zero?  None of them.  So why would Rare put their best franchise on indefinate hold?

Here's the truth.  Perfect Dark Zero may NEVER come out.  It's listed in internal company memo's as being "on hold indeffinately."

General Gaming / X-Box Live discontinued?
« on: October 21, 2003, 01:23:41 PM »
I was making the rounds at several local Target stores today when I noticed something quite strange.  At all 5 of the Target stores I visited, the "X-Box live kit" was being put on clearance.  In some cases, the cleareance price was less than $10!

(By the way, the reason I visit so many stores is because I am a collector )

I asked an employe if this clearance was due to the impending arrival of "X-Box Live 2.0,"
the so-called "re-launch" of X-Box live.  The employe, who was the manager of the video game dept, told me that Target will NO LONGER be carrying X-Box Live Accessories.

Now this is the 3rd store chain I have heard is no longer carrying X-Box live kits.  Something seems very strange and this looks really bad for Microsoft.  I guess online wasn't the "revolution" they thought it would be.

First the X-Box gets cracked wide open and now this?!

General Gaming / RE: Report: Sony to cut up to 20,000 jobs
« on: October 19, 2003, 06:08:13 PM »
I feel bad about the hardworking people who are losing their jobs.  Still, this is not the only bad financial news that sony has posted this year.

Then there are the rumors that the Psp is having serious production difficulties.  I actually think that sony cant afford the price cut and that if does go through, it will be an act of desperation.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Piracy: a cancer on the Game Industry. Must-read!!
« on: October 19, 2003, 01:53:34 PM »
actually you can stop piracy.  the best way is for companies to track down pirates where they lurk on the web, in newsgroups, on direct connect hubs, on Mirc and even on p2p's like Kazaa.

fairly soon, everything you say or do on the internet will be able to be tracked.  no one will be immune.  once this system is in place, I think even music piracy will disappear.

quit bitching and start playing, that my motto.    I'm starting to feel this forum is a waste of time.  I could be playing a game right now..............

Piracy also destroys creativity.  When smaller companies with original games can't make a buck, all we are left with is the corpate garbage like Jak 2.  A game, in my opinon, that makes me want to puke.  It also stands as a perfect example of why we need smaller independant game companies with new ideas.  If people just keepstealing their games, the will dry up and blow away.
