TalkBack / Re: For Nintendo, 'Beer' is Too Strong for Wii Owners
« on: July 08, 2008, 10:10:48 PM »
We should lower the drinking age in America to 13 and have MORE censorship, That way EVERYBODY WINS.

Seriously though its not like this game is actually worthy of being upset over. If they took out blood from The Conduit or something than I would be upset. So no more beer in a game I had no intentions in buying and laughed at the idea it existed. Bfffffffff
I understand standing up to principles but you got to pick the right battles

Don't jump on the hating Nintendo Bandwagon The news media and ESRB  and such had more to do with this change.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,377421,00.html

I saw this coming a long time ago, so no surprised.

Nintendo saw the controversy and acted before it got in trouble and protestors.

i might seriously consider picking this up. I have two Nyko Perfect Shots.

Also it might be fun to buy such a racist game.

I haven't seen that stereotypical mexicans and native americans like that in YEARS.

So I was at Toys R Us and just fooling around with a friend. I was punching him with the Hulk fists and he was throwing $1.99 big plastic balls at me and I wondered into the electronics section to buy Ghost Squad for $20.

Anyway this 8 year old, what appears to be his mom and dad were at Toys R us to buy a new handheld. I wasn't really paying attention but when I went to grab Ghost Squad and looking for other good deals they might have I couldn't help but listen and over hear the conversation.  The kid was getting a handheld , and he was like I want a DS Lite. I know what system I want and I want a DS Lite. He was totally respectful and nice about it, but his Mom told him to look at this PSP it has better graphics and can do more stuff. The kid was like no I want a DS lite (not screaming but obviously getting frustrated). The mom was like I want you to see the options and to consider this carefully, he was like I know about PSP but I want good games I want a DS Lite. She kept nagging him and the dad was on the kids side and saying lets just get him what he wants and telling her to back down.

I was looking at the DS and GBA clearance bin. ( Jam Sessions for $9.99).
I went to buy my copy of Ghost Squad and this mother was ahead of me in line and asked the girl at register what was better for her son PSP or DS. Girl said DS is better for children and PSP has more features like movies, and mp3 support but has very few games.

Finally I interrupted since she was in front of me and being clueless fool.

"look ma'am I am 24 years old and I own a DS Lite and I love it. It has so many games to play on it and if I was 8 I would so love the DS Lite. He is still young so he might break the PSP so just get him the DS."

She was ok, and than let me go ahead in the line. Her son looked relieved that I stood up for him and was looking for accessories and what Color he wanted. She didn't know what game to get him and I told her a new Guitar Hero DS console was out and it came with the game. SHe was like "I don't allow my son to play those types of games."

She walked off and I bought my Ghost Squad in Peace.

It seemed like a good kid, I mean good enough for his parents to go out and buy him a handheld for, but the mom refused to allow him to pick what he wanted. I sort of understand her perspective but when the kid knows exactly what he wants and the mom clearly is ignorant and the kid doesn't waver and its not a bad thing to buy why keep nagging? If the kid was not sure what he wanted than it would be ok to talk to him about the options, but he seriously wanted a DS Lite and was totally being a good son in the store so why not reward the kid with what he wants.

It wasn't any of my business so I didn't interrupt her or say anything until she was holding up the line because of her ignorance.

Would you guys have done the same thing?

LOL A 1.9?

That's HILARIOUSLY TERRIBLE.

http://wii.ign.com/articles/886/886803p1.html

Worst Graphics on Wii. I saw the trailer on Nintendo Channel and I was like --really this can't be real.

1.9 WOW. I mean WOW why they couldn't of given it a solid 2. BOoooooooooo

I beat NMH on the MILD Setting that was the highest it would let me go when I started the game.

I did enjoy the game, and it was worthy of my money but I don't see myself ever playing threw it again and it will collect dust on my DVD shelf.

The controller doesn't have a brand name it just says "Works for NGC & Wii" on it.
it looks and feels 100% like Nintendo controller the buttons and stick not same caliber but very still similar. I like the White color of it and doesn't have a name above start button so its blank. It's made in China and just says basic info on the back of the plastic shell.

Found it:

However its White not Indigo.

That Movie Trading Company has lots of import goods and stuff. I saw this thing that has two cartridge slots that let you play SNES and NES and some TG16 controller and  original NES games and junk

King of the Monsters is an old favorite of mine. If only NeoGeo games worked on my TV without my having to switch component for composite. That's kind of a pain in the ass, so my enthusiasm for picking up KotM is dampened because of it.

SNK Arcade Classics: Volume 1 for Wii releases this week on PS2 and for some retarded reason the 22nd on Wii for $30.

it currently has EVERY SINGLE NEO GEO game released on virtual console a a few more I think.

I guess they are in a rush to get them all out of VC for the foolish to buy before the collection is released. Considering the fact that the games are $9, and take up a ton of room on Wii if your a fan of Neo Geo you should serious consider this.

http://www.amazon.com/SNK-Arcade-Classics-Volume-1/dp/B001AMMZU0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1215478211&sr=1-1

the other game seems MEH.

Why didn't they release Super Mario RPG yet? Come on now I know they love Japan but this is really pissing me off why release quality games and give us garbage, or few games every week.

I beat "No More Heroes" last night, and the battle mode kind of got boring but the boss battles were awesome, anyway I don't see myself playing that over. I traded that in.
Snakes on a Plane I placed a digital copy on my Harddrive and traded that in. South park Seasons 4-10 are currently available at SouthParkStudios.com to watch for FREE Legally, so no point in keeping the box sets.

I got a grand total of $97 CASH for everything.

I went around my local shops Gamestop, ToysRus, Movie Trading company Circuit City and bought the following.

Ghost Squad: $19.99 NEW at Toys R US
Gamecube 3rd party wired controller: $9.99 NEW Movie Trading Company (its white like Wii and works and looks just like 1st party)
Final Fantasy VI: Advance: $16.99 NEW Circuit City ( 1 of 2 copies left, everywhere else this game is impossible to find)
Gamecube controller extension cord: $1.99 Used at Gamestop
2000 Wiipoints card from gamestop: $20
Dark knight "Why so Serious " Joker Poster: $4.99 New at Toys R US
japanese strawberry chew: $1 New Movie Trading Company

I also ate #4 meal at Jack in the Box (sour dough jack meal and nacho japaleno burger and bought my friend a smoothie)

So I got about $14 left and I'm saving that to watch Dark Knight in a next friday.

I think I did pretty damn well. I got a new deep game (Final Fantasy) and I got a great multiplayer game and now that I have two Nyko Perfect shots I'm ready to have some fun with Ghost Squad.

So do you guys think I got a good deal on everything?

Thanks for the kind words all.  I did my best to keep things under control!  Hosting is definitely a different experience, since you have to keep track of what's going on and act like a referee of sorts (especially with James).  I can't just space out like I normally do.   ;D

My favorite part is when James indignantly says, "I don't know man, you're the host!" like I wasn't doing my job, when I was actually giving him the floor as part of my HOSTING DUTIES.

No respect, I tell ya.  No respect.

Hey Jon, how's Spiderwick?
LOL. I remember when I saw that for download off Nintendo channel I laughed and imminently downloaded it out of morbid curiosity. That and Lords of thunder are two ongoing jokes that I never grow tired of. When the review is finally posted it will be a MEGATON EVENT.

2386
WOW I guess demand was just waiting for something like this. Luke Warm reviews be damned people want Guitar Hero on Nintendo consoles and they don't care which ones.

I love how they drive up to random person and ask her and she has a quick conversation about the game while driving.

than a woman is like ever since I had a baby this the only game i play. WTF LOL

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Star System will Die on 02/07/08 in Europe
« on: July 01, 2008, 10:28:09 PM »
Quote
On 3 June, we reminded Club Nintendo members that any Stars that had been in their accounts for more than 24 months would expire. On 1 July, those Stars expired.

However, due to a database error, our general newsletter of 1 July stated a Stars amount that was incorrect and included the expired Stars in the Stars Balance section.

To correct this error, we are giving those who had Stars expiring from their account one extra day to redeem their Stars. After 17:00 on 2 July, the Stars Balance that appears as ‘Current Stars Balance’ in the My Account section of Club Nintendo will be the correct balance and the expired Stars will be allowed to lapse.

This email is being sent to clarify that your correct Stars Balance is the one that is in the My Account section of Club Nintendo. We apologize for any confusion that this might have caused.

http://gonintendo.com/?p=48119

Use your damn stars before you become like America with no star system.

I am in the mood for a fresh fighter so I'm a little hyped.

Soul Calibur while good hasn't evolved at all. Tekken is basically the same thing as it always has been but even more complex. Dead or Alive is just prettier versions, and Virtual Fighter while good overall try to be different just more complex.

Smash was the first fighter in decades to do anything NEW or DIFFERENT. So I am cautiously optimistic.

TalkBack / Re: No Plans For a DVD-Playing Wii
« on: July 01, 2008, 01:08:09 PM »
Why couldn't they just do a DVD MOVIE channel?

Of Course you have to pay for it, like $15 or so.

In that channel it would have the codecs and such to allow DVD movie playing and have the DVD  player program.

Wii DOES use DVD for Games for God Sake it really shouldn't take a hardware update to let it happen software should work just as well

2395
Do you guys expect Firmware update morning of E3?

What about movies posted onto Nintendo Channel and new DS demos from E3 to download.

or is that make to much sense and thus impossible for Nintendo?

I just watched a video for Magnetica.  It looks to be a pretty fun flash game, but I would probably grow bored after ten minutes.  Definitely not worth $10.

It came out in Europe and from impressions YOU CAN ONLY USE THE WIIMOTE so your hands will hurt after 10 minutes of play

TalkBack / Re: World of Goo to Receive Retail Release in Europe
« on: June 27, 2008, 07:06:11 PM »
How much you wanna bet after the game bombs they will put it on Wiiware and lick their wounds. Certain games just won't work for retail release, this is one of them.

Just put some hooks for downloadable content.

This is one stupid ass move.

Well the motivation is clearly because they are running out of money. I think that 2D Boy doesn't have any other option. Given that the publisher RTL Playtainment has the publishing rights in Europe now, it is entirely up to them as to what the future of the game is in Europe.

WHAT?

Downloads are cheaper as they don't require plastic for boxes, paper for the packaging, printing of disks of plastic, and shipping costs. I am about 50/50 on if I would buy this Wiiware game but I am 100% sure I won't buy it at retail. I can't imagine how they couldn't work out a deal with whatever company to put it on Wiiware.
