The Greening (Or Not) of the Wii Software Library

The Grass is Getting Greener...

On one hand, the Wii is getting franchises that never showed up on the GameCube. On the other, there are still plenty of titles that would be perfect on Nintendo's latest console, yet aren't.

The Grass is Getting Greener

There's nothing wrong with wanting more. Maybe it's human nature to always be a little dissatisfied and tempted by things you don't [yet] have. But while even this diehard Nintendo fan can yearn for some EchoChrome or Castle Crashers – and believe me, I yearn. I yearn very much – there's also something to be said for taking a step back and realizing how much the Wii is actually offering to me this generation.

Take the three titles mentioned below for instance. They're just a small sample, but the Wii is actually building up quite a number of things that the other consoles had last gen, and that the GameCube (rest its indigo-hued soul) didn't. To play these games last generation you had to go out and get another console. Now the Wii is succeeding in bringing Nintendo gamers not just equal treatment, but exclusive treatment too.
