Super Smash Bros. Brawl gets pushed down by Beautiful Writing and Japanese gangsters.

This week shows yet again how strong the casual market is in Japan. Nintendo’s own calligraphy and Chinese character training game stormed right to the top, just ahead of the new PlayStation 3 Yakuza title.

Wii Fit also continued to impress, heading slowly but surely towards the two million mark. Meanwhile, Wii Sports continues its phenomenal sales, which could make it seem like a system pack-in, despite it not being so in Japan.

Metroid Prime 3, which made a bold entry at No. 5 last week, slipped to No. 11 this week. Even Everyone's General Knowledge Training TV slid way down to No. 14, despite it being predicted to be another big seller with the casual/family market.

Wow, Smash brothers Brawl is selling below WiiFit. It may be that when all is said and done in the Japanese market, Wii Fit will have outsold Brawl?

Nintendo has successfully killed gaming...

Well, a million and a half units is nothing to snuff at either. That's probably a nice profit for Nintendo. If anything, it means that there is a healthy audience there for all sorts of games! Yay!

And whoa ho at Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! racking in sales. The Japanese takes kindly to playing as Miyamoto Musashi.

Now both the US and Japan have sold 1.5 million for Brawl.

Just that the US took 3 days.....not 3 months!

It is just too bad that it has no chance of hitting 5 million because the fan base won't accept it :(
