Looks like there's a little bit of something for everybody this week.

There's a good variety in the eShop this week! The GameBoy Advance games finally start rolling out on the Wii U Virtual Console, while a new free-to-play title is on the 3DS eShop. The Dark Knight comes back with a Deluxe Edition, and there's even a pill-poppin' discount.

Wii U eShop

Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - Deluxe Edition - $19.99
It's a port of the 3DS version that came out in October of last year, complete with improved graphics and a better map. Now you can play the 2.5D action game on the big screen.

Evofish - $4.99
Avoid being eaten while finding food for yourself. Evofish is a party game initially released on iOS and Android, but the Wii U version uses the GamePad for extra effect for up to five players.

3DS eShop

Rusty's Real Deal Baseball - Free-to-play
Rusty, the ol' baseball playing dog, is here to let you play for free, but only one mini-game called Bat and Switch. The good news is you get to bargain with Rusty with the rewards you unlock while progressing through the game in order to lower the price of new mini-games. Batter up!

Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst - $5.99
Portception! This hidden-object game is a port of the DS title which is a port of the PC version from 2006. Get your findings on in a rumored-about manor.

Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove - $5.99
Another hidden-object/adventure, this time taking place in a deserted town. Time-wise, the events take place after Return to Ravenhearst, so if you play both of these back-to-back, there will be a little bit of a gap.

Super Monkey Ball 3D - $19.99
Remember this one? It was a 3DS launch title three years ago, and now it has rolled into the eShop.

Wii U Virtual Console

Advance Wars - $7.99
You know it, you love it--the first Advance entry to come to North America. It has all the turn-based strategy fun one could dream of. This Wii U version also has single-system multiplayer. Check it out.

Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - $7.99
Explore Mario & Luigi: Dream Team's origins by playing this classic. It's hilarious, offbeat, and downright entertaining. And yes, it has that trademark turn-based battle system.

Metroid Fusion - $7.99
Time to play a 2D Metroid again! This one was received pretty darn well. While being slightly more linear that its predecessors, this one sunk deep with the story.

Sales

From now until April 10, you can get $5 off Dr. Luigi if you buy Dr. Mario.

Talkback

Disco StuApril 03, 2014

I never owned a GBA (had a GB and GBC but didn't buy another handheld until I got a DS in 2007), so these GBA VC releases are like unearthing a treasure trove for me.  I wish they were on 3DS but I am having so much fun playing through Metroid Fusion finally, I don't care that much.

Sidenote: wasn't it also announced that Picross e4 was coming out sometime this month?  I just recently finished all the puzzles in Picross e1-3 and I am desperate for some more.

MythtendoApril 03, 2014

Yes, the developer of the Picross e games since the 4th game would come out by the end of April
