The lucha-inspired Metroid-style platformer is coming soon!

Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition, the well-received previously PC/PlayStation exclusive, is coming to the Wii U.

Developed by Drinkbox, this edition of Guacamelee will include all DLC from previous versions of the game in one package as well as expand the story with new levels and boss battles. The playable characters in the game will also be able to obtain new abilities.

There is no current release date for the game. Guacamelee originally came out PlayStation 3 and Vita in April 2013. This is the first game on a Nintendo platform from the team at Drinkbox Studios.

I wonder if they're gonna keep the price point at $15. If they do, the included DLC would make for a great value.

I got this in the humble bundle, but I think I will double dip for the Wii U.

Day. One. Purchase.

Got this for 1 dollar among other ten or so games.

Don't really see myself buying it again.

Original was in my top 10 list for 2013. It's definitely one of the best exploration platforming games I've played. Definitely double dipping since the DLC is bundled.

I got this on Vita a while ago and haven't played it yet, so I probably won't be picking this one up. Still, great news for people who don't own a Vita, which is most people.

Yep.  I got this via a Steam sale sometime last year, and it's currently on my backlog of shame.  I'd consider double-dipping for a version that I could play on the Gamepad.

I also picked this up for a dollar in the recent Humble Bundle.

I had always suspected I would like this game, but even I was surprised by just how much it grabbed me. Great art, great music, and great design. Highly recommended.

I've heard and read plenty of positive things regarding Guacamelee. I'm honestly surprised the Wii U is getting this. I'll definitely be open to downloading this baby when it comes out to see what I've been missing!
