A GameStop product page reveals the new bundle.

GameStop's product page for FlingSmash revealed that Nintendo will be releasing a special bundle version. FlingSmash, priced at $49.95, will come with a black Wii Remote Plus, a new version of the Wii Remote with the MotionPlus gyroscope already integrated into it. FlingSmash requires the MotionPlus for its gameplay, turning the Wii Remote into a paddle.

The information has since been pulled from GameStop's website, but Nintendo of Europe confirmed to Eurogamer that the device "is real" but that they "have nothing to announce on this at the moment."

FlingSmash is scheduled to be released on November 7.

Sounds like they want to turn it into the next Wii Play.

Killer_Man_JaroTom Malina, Associate Editor (Europe)September 24, 2010

I wonder if that will do anything to the weight and feel of the controller - cosmetically, it looks identical. Also begs the question of if this will be bundled with Zelda: Skyward Sword.
I expect it will make trivial difference, aside from the convenience of not having to constantly connect and disconnect a Motion Plus.

As for FlingSmash itself... current outlook is meh. There's always been scepticism as to the value of the game, which is reportedly not that complicated and not particularly rich in content.

Huh, that's exactly what I was thinking.  :D

Okay, I might actually buy this thing now. Comes with awesome new controller and the game is basically really cheap due to the bundle.

The Wii Remote and Motion Plus bundle is already $50, so this makes the game practically free. That makes me wonder what price the stand-alone game will be.

AVSeptember 24, 2010

I might seriously considering buying this game now.

They probably will never make one since the game requires Wii MotionPlus, it's like how they never made a version of Wii Sports Resort that didn't include it.

I already own 4 remotes and 3 MotionPlus units. I don't want to pay $50 for this game because it's bundled with something I have no use for.

AVSeptember 25, 2010

I wonder if the wiimoteplus will be better and not need as much calibration. It should be the same, but in theory having the tech built in maybe they figured how to make it work better

I think the MotionPlus feature will be the same, but I'm curious to see if they improve anything else about the Wii Remote, like battery life or speaker quality or pointer fidelity. This is the first revision of the controller in four years.

How much trade in value does the wiimote, motion plus and nunchuck have at Gamestop? Depending on how much it is I might trade my controller set in for on of these wiimote pluese and nunchucks.

I'll go halfsies with you.  You can keep the Club Nintendo points.

About $10 for Wii Remote, about $10 for Wii MotionPlus, about $7-8 for Nunchuk.

Amazon is usually better, but they are worse for controllers: $5 for Wii Remote, $1.50 for Nunchuk ($2 for black one), $3.50 for white Wii MotionPlus ($6.75 for black one).

I hope it is available separately or in a Motion Plus bundle, I'd think they would realize that a lot of people have no need for another one.

So about $28 for the whole set versus how much for the wiimote plus and nunchuck?

Why would you trade-in/sell your Nunchuck?

Mop it upSeptember 25, 2010

He probably wants a black one to go with the black Wiimote Plus.

Exactly.

Ah.  Makes sense.

Kytim89September 26, 2010

How much will the wiimote plus cost? I am wagering the same as the current wiimote/motion plus bundle, but I also wager that it will be $30 and $20 for the nunchuck. Lastly, is there anything that the nunchuck needs improved? Perhaps a nunchuck plus?

I don't think there's anything they could do to improve the nunchuk that wouldn't require special support in games.

Make it wireless because there have been too many times where I got smacked in the face from the cord while playing No More Heroes.

Sounds like you need to calm it down there a little bit.

Also they could add rumble to the nunchuck since it's corded to the wiimote for power.

I was doing that circular sword lock thing in the game against a boss and I actually smacked myself in the face with the core and let me tell you, it hurts like a bitch. It hurt so much that I want a wireless nunchuck made by Nintendo.

Right now the Wii Remote + Wii MotionPlus package costs $50, I don't expect Wii Remote Plus to be much different (definitely not $30). Maybe $40 at the lowest. Also, no chance of them forcing the Nunchuk to be attached to it IMO. For one thing, you would not be able to hook up the Classic Controller/Pro to it or other accessories like the Wii Zapper or the many third party peripherals like EA's hockey controller from NHL Slapshot or the gun controllers used in games like the Cabella hunting games. Second, I don't know too many people who would want to have to have the Nunchuk just dangling there when you play a game that doesn't use it.
