The redesigned Wii Remote gets a release date in Japan.

Nintendo's official site has revealed the Japanese release date for the Wii Remote Plus (called Wii Remocon Plus in Japan), a re-design of the Wii Remote that comes with the Wii MotionPlus gyroscope already integrated into it. The controller is the same size as the regular controller, and will come in five different colors: white, black, blue, pink and red.

Wii Remote Plus will be released in Japan on November 11, and will be sold for ¥3,800 (approximately $46), the same price as the current Wii Remote model. In North America, the Wii Remote Plus will come bundled with FlingSmash. Also on November 11, Nintendo will replace all Wii Remote controller bundles with Wii Remote Plus.

In addition, a new Nunchuk color has been revealed, the red model will also be released on November 11.

Wow, this would be a great time to be buying a Wii.  If you can get a Wii bundle with the Wii remote + and Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort.

Then you can buy Fling Smash and get the new Wii remote + bundle.  And finally wait until Nintendo releases a new update to Wii Play with this new controller.  You can get a nice collection of controllers and games.

It would be smart to release this here at the same price of the regular Wii Remote, that would definitely help sell it. Perhaps now I'll finally get a pink and a blue Wii Remote; with the current ones, the Motion Plus is white. It doesn't match!

Is Nintendo getting a bit, N64'ish with these consoles.

Meaning currently you can go to some(not all) retail stores and see original Wii bundles, Black Wii Motion+ bundles, White Wii Motion+ bundles and now they intend to add a Wii Remote+ bundle.

The disk drive is dying in my launch Wii, so this is perfect for me but your run of the mill shopper will be confused on what to get little Jason for his Birthday :(

I want to see how the battery life of the Wiimote plus compares to the normal Wiimote and motion plus combo. If the battery life is improved then I am sold, but the only draw back is the price. It seems like the technology should be getting cheaper and thus easier to buy from a consumer stand point.

I would bet that Nintendo will bundle one these controllers with Skyward Sword.
