Nothing is more frustrating than getting knocked off Rainbow Road just as you get put on track by Lakitu...The same thing happens to me on Rainbow Road on the SNES version as well...Deja vu, eh?...

I have a question.... Is this game 8 players battle mode? My bro will play at his college and I will play at home so we can total up to 8 players. However I know u can race 8 players on vs mode and not gp but what about battle mode? thanks.

BTW if u cant have 8 players battle mode then this practacally ruines the game for me cause thats what I bought this game for.

No, beat the Special Cup on 100cc... 3rd cup is Star, which just unlocks the Special Cups.

I know some people werent real impressed with the visuals, but if you take into consideration that everythig is running at 60fps, its pretty impressive. The only other game that runs this smooth that I have played, is Wave Race B.S. I havent experienced any slowdown, and I dont think the framerate has ever dipped more than 5-10fps. I am very impressed with the game from this extent. I havent gotten to experience the multi-player yet, but thats gonna happen thiss weekend.

Anyway, hopefully I can get this game this week. I won't have memory card access for a while, but that shouldn't be a problem. . . only about a week.

i wish this was online gameplay instead of LAN , that would of been awesome, i imagine myself playing with 8 ppl! if 4 is insane! i have with 4 ppl though it would of been better online with a dedicated server

My friends and I played 6 hours of multi-player last night, and a few hour today. This game is aswome, very addiciting. I look forward to wappipe getting the online service done. Four people is a blast though, I think four people all around a tv playing is even better than online play, and hopefully I can get two cubes hooked up together for some eight player action. IGN should have given this game 9.9 instead of a 7.9.

Thanks.Got him over the weekend.Toad rocks.As does this game.At first i was a little unsure of this title but the more you play it the more i like it.Just like a fine wine.My girlfriend hates it though.Less time with her.Not to worry.Its worth been lonely.

I haven't gotten to play multiplayer yet but thanksgiving draws nigh. Thank God for pointless holidays.

I wish there were more unlockables and more battle types and arenas but I'm gonna stop b!tching before someone shoots my face with some sort of incindiary firearm.

Whats pathetic is that u see this game for more then that. I beat this game in 2 days 100%. there is absoultly no point to keeping it unless there is multi-player. Im al ready bored with playing the racing and battle is the only thing fun now. so could some1 please answer my question? Is there 8 players battle mode? or is it only vs?

So you would ONLY going to be playing 8 player battle mode were that an option, eh? There ARE many other multiplayer modes, plus I doubt you're ever going to have 2 TV's, 2 Gamecubes, 2 broadband adaptors, 2 copies of the game, 8 controllers and 7 friends in one place often enough to ever get the functionality out of that. And even if you DO, you can still play normal races, with twice as many people no less.

Actually I do... it pays when u have a job and u can buy whatever u want and a collage campus takes care of the friends thing. and what do u mean many more multiplayer modes? there is only race and battle? so anyway since no1 still has answered my question i guess that means battle mode is limited to 4-players.

WTF are u talking about? I have my damn opinion ok. If I wanted 1-player games or limited multi-player games I would of got a ps2. I enjoy MULTIPLAYER. In fact. I own several gamecube/PC games were I have NEVER even tried the 1-player mode. Simply because I dont like playing alone. I will only play the game if its co-op or rarely I will play the odd 1-player only game like RE or metroid prime but usually if thier is a multiplayer mode in the game, I wont touch the 1-player. I also plan on getting an x-box when halo2 is out and im getting x-box live. ITs plane and simple... I LIKE MULTIPLAYER GAMES. that is why I avoid the Ps2. Now this is my opinion and I dont think any1 has the right to say its pathetic.

I know it's your opinion, but there's nothing wrong with me being negative towards the fact you bought the game for a non-existant mode...Let's put this in technical terms: Would you rather have 4 player battle mode with a constant framerate or 8 player battle mode that would run slower than molasses?

4-player Battle mode does run at 60fps, barring that all 4 subscreens don't have combined bob-omb explosions running longer than 4 seconds.

What is so hard about having a 16 player multiplayer? Just have a dedicated console. Nothing new to me to have to have a dedicated platform.

well it should be able to handle 8-players lag free. I mean they have an 8 player vs mode so why not a battle? and im talking LAN here.....Not warppipe. Cause in direct Lan connection there should be no reason a game should lag whatsoever with only 8 players. 16+ players then I can start to see some lag.
