I have not verified this, and I'm sure someone will, but the battle maps seems too small to allow 8-kart play.  But with 4 karts, 8-player CO-OP battle is logical.

The 8-kart/16-player Co-op Grand prix option should be common knowledge by now.

Question?  I didnt seem to notice this before, but in single player, does the framerate jump around in some the of the levels?  I cant tell if its the framerate dropping, maybe its just screen shake, or I am just seeing things.  Anyone else take notice to this?

In my personal experience -- in single player Grand Prix and Co-op Grand Prix -- I have not seen framerate jumps at all.

Yeah, bust be the crack. By the way, just thought that I should mention that I have no idea why I was b!tching about not enough unlockables earlier. There are enough to keep me happy. This is a triple excellent game.

U mean all in your own cart or 2 per cart?

And im extreamly annoyed.  I finally played 3-player battle mode and found out there is no bomb-omb in baloon mode when U die.  This was one of the greatest features of mario kart64 and im extreamly disapointed that it was not included

You get that when you press and hold 'A' in the screen before Lakitu comes out (the Nintendo screen I believe).

It is LAN only, but a technique called 'tunneling' can be used to play players in other areas. So it has a psuedo online element. http://warppipe.com has information regarding the matter.

Nice review, though I don't agree on the graphics rating cause I think the game looks beautifull, try looking at MK64 and then look at this game ( i did) and you can see how different this game looks than its predecessor. The bomb explotions, the power slide, the shine are examples of little details that look good to me.Regading your other scores they are fine I agree with most of them ( sound could be a bit higher) and this game totally kick ass. Thank god u didnt gave it a 7.9 as some other sites has done because they think the game isn't that great and has been turned more kiddy friendly, I don't know what they are smoking but this game is HARD in 150cc mode. Don't tell me you find Rainbow Road really easy the  first time you try it, cause it's sure the hardest rainbow road that i've ever race ( in 150cc i mean, still don't have the mirror mode). Anyway people buy the game it is that really good plus it's a blast with a lot of friends in ur house or whatever house u are.
