no thanks i don't want a sequel to a crappy nes game.

from what I've heard red dead revolver is done, and they're looking for a publisher...mainly rockstar to publish it.  it's not on capcom's financial report for this year so it doesn't look like they're going to release it.

and why would Mikami goto work WITH Nintendo and create the same game he has already made and worked on for the last 2 years?

I think this whole "french interview" thing is a slight misinterpretation. It sounds awfully similar to what Miyamoto said in this month's EGM.

A few lines from the interview

EGM: And you're also using bigger Japanese developers, such as Sega, Capcom, and Namco.

S.M. That's also why, with some of the larger developers, we find people we can entrust our franchise characters to. Namco's now making a Star Fox game. Mr.Nagoshi {head of the Sega development studio Amusement Vision} is working on F-Zero. And acutually, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami at Capcom came to us and said he wanted to work on Nintendo titles. Sonic creator Yuki Naka has done the same. So really, we're focusing on this idea of finding creative and talented designers to put together a strong lineup for the GameCube.

I don't think that there's any "Groundbreaking, Earthshattering Megaton" games in development that we don't know about. Did that make any sense?

Oh, and in this same interview, Miyamoto says "You'll definitely be playing it (Metroid Prime 2) next year"
He also goes onto to say the next Gamecube Zelda "...will not have a realistic Link. At least, not the next one"

ofcourse not the next one, the WW sequel is already in development.
that doesn't mean there couldn't be an adult link game after that one on GC.
even if they started right now on adult link game, theres no way it would come out before the WW sequel.

"And acutually, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami at Capcom came to us and said he wanted to work on Nintendo titles. Sonic creator Yuki Naka has done the same."

F-Zero, from impressions this game will be one of the top 5 so far in the entire GC lineup thus far-Sega
Starfox gameplay already indicates it will be top notch-Namco

now we have those two legendary developers come to Nintendo themselves and want to work with Nintendo to make games.  They could be sequels yes, but they could also be new franchises because almost all of Nintendo's franchises already have sequels due to release between now and mid 2004 or are currently in development for an even later release.
New franchise+legendary developer+Nintendo collaboration= Megaton!

I don't know, you guys are making this complex as hell. I just want a simple game, like ICO. Man, what underhyped game....

Anyways, if I were to be asked my opinion about the complex side, I would also have to say a new original game. Or what if they re-invented a genre, like a survival RPG thing scary ma-jig.........I just had to say that becuase I am an RPG whore.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned yet about how everyone was saying that "Dead Phoenix" looks a lot like "Kid Icarus".

I'm about to go punk up some 3rd parties so they don't release games on other hardware, ciao!

Ruby: Or how Dead Phoenix's creator has said that the game has changed significantly from what we originally saw and that it looks much different. That would be an interesting prospect indeed.

And GCN will have Metroid Prime 2 and Resident Evil 4.

Yeah I know, but what I'm saying is that once Halo 2 and GT4 come out, the hardcore Xbox and PS2 fannies (haha - i made a funny), will just hide under their collective rocks of stubborness and claim these to be the best games ever, and shun Metroid Prime 2, RE4, Killer 7 etc, despite these games' creativeness and gameplay.
Not that I'm knocking Halo 2 and GT4, as I'm sure they'll be great.

I don't know if I should change my avatar or not, it just work with every reply I ever make.

Yes, it is sad, but oh well as long as Nintendo keeps bringing me games, I really don't care. Halo 2 looks awesome though......*silence*

I think I read somewhere that Capcom wants to make a game based on one of Nintendo's franchises. That is probably what this is about...but I think someone mentioned that already...oops.

Luigi!

That reminds me.. has Mario actually ever used a plunger in a game?

(I speak of the real Mario)

maybe so but how many people actually played Wild Gunman in the arcades back in the mid 1980's
and care for a sequel to it released on a console, on GC, 15+ years later?

Take Defender for instance, it was awesome in the arcade, and far more popular than Wild Gunman was in the arcades.

Defender was released on almost every console since it debuted, and Wild Gunman was released on 1 console since it debuted.

A remake of Defender was made last year, and it got good reviews, and how many people bought it?
Enough to have it go in the bargain bin, roughly 1 month after it came out.....
