Bob Ross made painting look fun. I don't care if he wasn't a "real" artist like Van Gogh or whatever. If I was playing a painting video game I'm not doing it to be a professional painter and make a living from it, obviously... so the point is just to mess around and have fun, and if the Bob Ross method is the funnest way to do it then that's the way I would prefer. Quick and easy.
You didn't read a word I said did you?
The thing with Bob Ross over other artists is that he really took advantage of the medium he was using.
Indicates that I acknowledge him as a master of his craft and medium,
Look I can quickly mix Brown, Green, and Yellow together so the don't blend. Apply to my canvas and it looks like a row of bushes.
An example of his particular style that would not be an easy fit for a video game.
Someone with an art style that was more clearly defined and used basic colors how they were meant to would be a better choice for a videogame.
Tells what type of artist I think would make a good fit for a video game.
If Bob Ross lived today and wasn't weird about Technology, he still wouldn't paint digitally because it doesn't allow him to use all the tricks he's developed over time with Canvas, paint, and the tools of his trade. Plus his particular paintings would be harder for a digital painter to replicate to begin with.
Bob Ross was a great showman for what he did. I don't think it would translate well into gaming.
