Lady Gaga Video Game Coming?
« on: February 07, 2012, 07:26:24 PM »

Could the Fame Monster be getting her own game on Wii U?

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/rumor/29192

Lady Gaga: The Experience could be coming to the Wii and Wii U later in 2012, sources speculate.

The rumored Lady Gaga game could be developed by Ubisoft and under the "Experience" banner. The first game in the franchise was Michael Jackson: The Experience which was released for the Wii, DS and 3DS, and in the case of the Wii version, used the Just Dance rhythm engine.

The reveal might happen later in the year at E3 2012. No other information regarding the game, such as gameplay, list of tracks and Lady Gaga's involvement with the game, were revealed.

In 2006 there was rumors of a Bob Ross game, but that never actually happened. I guess it should be no surprise with the WiiU now on the horizon we are hearing about other crazy celebrity game rumors which also may not happen. In the end, maybe its for the best if this game doesn't come out, because its not like Celebrity based video games have a great track record. Anyone remember Shaq-Fu for the SNES? Imagine if there was something just like that, but with Lady Gaga. I rest my case.

This isn't a far-out rumor, nor is it a Wii U-specific title... it would logically follow in the footsteps of the Michael Jackson game.
On a side note, the Wii U is even more apt for a Bob Ross game.

I call lies on this one. I predicted/demanded a Beyonce's Bootylicious Dance Mix and even correctly called it 4 years ago. Then the stupid woman flopped and ruined my demands forever!

That wasn't just a rumor, it was an actual game. There was a press release for it and everything. The game was in development, it just got canned/shelved long before release. But like MB said, it could be a good candidate for a Wii U release, so maybe it will be revived.

If the Tabuu interacts with the Wiimote as I hope it would, then it could become your palette for mixing colors.

I would like to see a Bob Ross game happen. I remember watching his show on PBS and it looked like a fun thing to do, but buying a canvas and all the materials necessary to do it would probably be expensive and I'd probably end up messing up and having to throw the stuff out before I got good. But the good thing about it being a video game is if you mess up its no big deal and you don't have to buy new paint and canvas every time.

The thing with Bob Ross over other artists is that he really took advantage of the medium he was using.

Look I can quickly mix Brown, Green, and Yellow together so the don't blend.  Apply to my canvas and it looks like a row of bushes.

Someone with an art style that was more clearly defined and used basic colors how they were meant to would be a better choice for a videogame.

Bob Ross made painting look fun. I don't care if he wasn't a "real" artist like Van Gogh or whatever. If I was playing a painting video game I'm not doing it to be a professional painter and make a living from it, obviously... so the point is just to mess around and have fun, and if the Bob Ross method is the funnest way to do it then that's the way I would prefer. Quick and easy.

You didn't read a word I said did you?

The thing with Bob Ross over other artists is that he really took advantage of the medium he was using.
Indicates that I acknowledge him as a master of his craft and medium,

An example of his particular style that would not be an easy fit for a video game.

Tells what type of artist I think would make a good fit for a video game.

If Bob Ross lived today and wasn't weird about Technology, he still wouldn't paint digitally because it doesn't allow him to use all the tricks he's developed over time with Canvas, paint, and the tools of his trade.  Plus his particular paintings would be harder for a digital painter to replicate to begin with.

Bob Ross was a great showman for what he did.  I don't think it would translate well into gaming.

Ceric, my post wasn't a direct response to your post. I did read your post. I was watching some Bob Ross videos on youtube and there were people criticizing him and his methods. That's what I was referring to. I'm not an expert on art by any means so those arguments don't matter to me. I am only interested in the "joy of painting" like what he named his show. I wasn't arguing against anything you had said.

The show was good and his artistic style is not for anyone.  I can easily see how people could argue  one way or another.  Like his style never lended itself to buildings at all.
