Godfather and Scarface are the Wii's GTA. I'll take Godfather over GTA any day. Seriously, try it. Now. ;)

Yes, l try those games out once I have a chance. However, these games will satisfy my GTA craving for a short period of time. I need the actual thing.

I would like to hear what all of you would want from an actual GTA wii game what ideas for content. For example, the game would have a radio host named John Preck who is actually a parody of Glenn Beck. Preck is constantly eating chocolate on the show. Everything from cand y bars to giant chocolate cakes, which he eats by himself much to chagrin of his co-hosts. He also fear mongers and has to sit on ab inflatable doughnut due to hemmoroids. This is what I mean by content.

We don't want GTA on Wii.  Rockstar has no idea how to make games for Wii.

How can we know? Rockstar North has never actually made a game for the Wii, it would be like saying Insomniac Games has no idea how to make games for the Wii.

Rockstar leeds would be the studio most likely to develop GTA wii. After all they did develop Chinatown Wars which would make them fairly familar with a Nintendo console. With all of the quality third party games coming out on wii there is no excuse for why this game is not being produced.

The DS and Wii are two completely different systems. A better lead would be to look at any Gamecube work the studio has done because of the similarity GC has to Wii.

Did they even develop for the Gamecube? The Gamecube era was when the major PS2 installments were coming out.

Angler City would have its own newspaper called "Angler Sun-Times" and one of its headlines woul say, "Unemployment in Carcer City is now above fifty-percent."

Do you mean Rockstar North specifically? If so, the last game on a Nintendo system that they personally developed was Space Station Silicon Valley for Nintendo 64 in 1999 (back when they were known as DMA Design).

Yes, I was thiking of Rockstar as a whole and forgot the smaller companies making handheld version of their franchise. But they never developed for the Gamecube and by developing for the wii they could make up for it to the fans.

Maybe,  its going to be a Body Harvest Sequel/Remake :P

actually that would be so kickass. Body Harvest with decent graphics/presentation/controls would be like GTA but better.
Or maybe Rockstar is just developing San Andreas/vice city for 3DS...

Here are a list of weapons for the game:

Handgun
Desert Eagle
Revolver
Pump Shotgun
Combat Shotgun
Sawd-off double barrel
MP5
Micro uzi
MP7
P90
M4 carbine
Ak-47
RPG
LAW missle launcher
flame thrower
minigun
M60
sniper rifles
grenades
molotov cocktails
satchel charges
brass knuckles
ball bat
crow bar
fisticuffs

Due to the wii's graphical weakness, could Rockstar make the game not as powerful as the HD GTA games, but much bigger than the previous generation's GTA games?

polygons have to be dropped, shaders have to be turned off. The Wii is capable of better than GTA:SA graphics because gamecube games like resident evil 4 had better graphics. The trade-off though for that game was scale, white RE4 is prettier, the levels were nowhere near as large as the PS2/Xbox GTA games. Wii might be powerful enough to pull off an re4 on a gta3 level size scale.

All I want is one city for the game instead of two or three. Basically I want to control the character in the same manor as Leon in RE4, but with traditional GTA controls. I mainly want the over the should wiimote cursor weapon system that RE4 wii edition had for the game for targetting enemies and the z button on the nunchuck could be used for lock-on targetting.

As for the city itself, I want something slightly bigger than Los Santos in San Andreas, but with the graphical scale of some of the recent third party wii games. Good lighting effects are plus as well. They could pool it off if Rockstar was willing to put the effort into the game. I mean look at Monster Hunter 3, that game's graphics and sheer scale of its environments is a clear sign that a GTA wii game can be pulled off.

To be honest, GTA kind of seems like a joke now that Red Dead Redemption is out.

What makes you think that? I have seen plenty of video of RDR and read reviews, and it seems like an OK game at best. I know I have zero interest in the game, it doesn't come close to being as good or interesting as GTA IV.

That's a bit like comparing apples and oranges. Similar games, yes, even in the same genre, but the timeframe in which either game is set is extremely different. Some people prefer a modern setting and some prefer a wild western setting, but neither game fills both niches so there is plenty of room for both.

With the success of GTA 4 proves that Rockstar knows how to make a competent game. REd DEad Revolver is just another game with the GTA style and there is nothing wrong with that at all. I am just complaining that Rockstar has the potential to make GTA wii the strongest third party game available if they just put fourth the effort. One thing thing that could draw them out though is the amount of credible thrid party games that have been released on the wiiin the past two years.

Do any of you guys have any ideas about parodies of the content such as radio hosts, TV shows, news papers, celebrities, etc.

it doesn't come close to being as good or interesting as GTA IV.

Red Dead Redemption is a better game than GTA in all forms. It is all the good parts of GTA and none of the bad parts, with more stuff than any GTA game has ever had in it, and all the stuff that's there is actually fun to do and won't make you want to stab yourself with toothpicks after the third time you do it.

Rockstar learns from all their games, and Red Dead Redemption shows it moreso than any of the GTA games, being a culmination of everything that was tried and experimented with in them.

I'm not sure how bad you are at GTA IV, but I never had to retry any mission more than once. RDR does not look at all interesting to me, story wise or gameplay wise. I also doubt it has more stuff than GTA IV considering how much stuff was in there (and how great that game was).

Rockstar was certainly in the their A game when they produced GTA 4. I just want them to bring that A game to the wii. Basically I want the game as pretty as RE 4 wii addition and the other third party wii games, but with a city the size of Los Santos in San Andreas.

Because "stuff" means "missions," right? There are a number of non-story related things you can do in GTA4, and most of them are incredibly boring. Bowling and all those game suck. The vigilante missions are not anywhere near as fun or dynamic as the bounties in Red Dead Redemption. Paramedic and taxi missions are the same thing as in every GTA game, and they were always kind of touch and go. The whole friendship thing was awesome if you loved playing the terrible minigames over and over again.

Because you can possibly know the story without playing the game. After all, watching several four-minute video reviews of a game that's easily 15-20 hours long will tell you everything you need to know about all the characters and situations in the game, the quality of the writing, and the finesse with which pertinent themes and allusions were embedded in a story that takes place a hundred years ago.

or gameplay wise.

Okay, so you don't like GTA?
I also doubt it has more stuff than GTA IV considering how much stuff was in there
Well I sure am glad that you, having never touched the game in your entire life, and with no plans to ever do so, think that you know more about what is or isn't in the game than somebody who has sunk well over ten hours into it so far.

I suspect that you just have a bug up your butt about things with a western theme.

No, I loved Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. A game should be able to show in a few minutes why it's worth picking up, RDR fails to give me a good reason to play it. From all that i've seen and read on it, nothing about it seems better than GTA IV.

Of your GTA IV complaints, the only one I would even slightly agree on is friendships (which is why I also hated the dating thing in GTA: SA, although it's not as bad in GTA IV), but there is no penalty to ignoring them once you unlocked their stuff.
