As you all know I am a avid GTA fan. I have played and beaten all of the games for the exception of the GTA 4 and its DLC episodes. However, I do not have a HD console at the moment and the only way to enjoy the series is to replay the old games, which is something I have done to death. I would really like to see a GTA game for the wii. So, I took a bunch of notes on what I want from the game and hope to share them with everyone on this forum.
The game would take place in a GTA rendition of Chicago called Angler City that Borders on Lake Carcer. The name Angler refers to the shipping and fishing industry of the city. Fro example, SEars Tower would be called Roebuck Tower for thi game.
The story would involve a crime lord who is betrayed and framed for murder by one of his underlings. While avoiding the authorities he has to find a way to reclaim his stabding among the crime lords of Angler City. All the while he is being pursued either by police detective or FIB detective named John Marshall for what ever murder he is framed for doing. On a side note, the main character could watch TV in his safe house and witness a speciel report by Weazel News that is a spoof of America's Most Wanted that features the main character.
As for the weapon system, I imagine Rockstar marrying the weapon system of RE4's over the shoulder mechanics with something like that of the older GTA titles.
I do not see how Rockstar could falter in the graphics department. The wii is not a graphical powerhouse, but with such games as Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Fragile, No More Heroes 2, RE 4, Dead Space Extraction, Monster Hunter 3 among others shows that good games with good textures and lighting effects could be possible on the wii. It would not be HD, but it would most likely be nice to look at.
As for the controls, I mentioned before about the over-the-shoulder perspective of RE4 for the weapons, well how about the controls? You basically control your character th same was Travis Touchdown or Leon Kennedy. I could see Rockstar implementing motion plus controls for the game to make it stand out amongst all of the GTA clones on the wii. However, since the classic controller pro does look like a dual shock controller, Rockstar should allow the ability to use the controller in the game beside the wiimote for GTA purists.
