Maybe it's just franchises that charge delivery fees. I'll have to ask the old veteran drivers. They've been with the store since corporate owned it directly.
Corporate also gave paid vacation to drivers that worked full time so these two, since they were still with the company, got their perks carried over as well. There are even some nice retirement benefits they get as well that no one gets anymore. Corporate also paid better. Franchises suck

No, the delivery charge is not given to the driver. Drivers do get a gas reimbursement, but that's not even close to what the charge is. It's a guaranteed profit margin for the suits.
