Yeah, I ran in to some bad pubbies today. They weren't the worse thing ever, but one of them was an achievement whore. While mildly annoying, they still played better than the bots.

It really helps if most of the players have voice. It was a big bonus playing yesterday with most of the group having voice. So far I haven't run into the Xbox style crowd playing on a PC, so I count that as a bonus.

I haven't dared to play it on expert without friends or the one up on that, realism mode. So I will just hold off on that until I can gather enough people to play that mode.

Beating expert is all I need to do and I can carry my weight and then some. I can never get hooked up with like-minded players though, ever... it's pretty frustrating.

The passing DLC campaign is short, but the amount of detail in some sections is pretty high. I was expecting a more intense campaign, like Parish, but it's a pretty soft level unless your playing verses with it's environment more suited for ambushes than any other level.

The Realism Mutation is absolutely brutal. It's more than possible to waste groups a bare 50 meters away from the last Safe room.

I have found enough like minded players to have some fairly regular games of high quality. Even then, random people who join tend to hold themselves up to a pretty high standard with the number of arses much lower than expected (achievement whores, 13yr sailors, arsebergers). I guess the extra investment in hardware draw a higher denominator crowd than the 360. Still has it's fair share of rage quitters.

Still wait on the Mac port, April is a bout to run out.

OMG, I just fired up this game for the 1st time (never played L4D1) and I'm loving it already.

It runs silky smooth at 1080p with no screen tearing like some other games I was playing and the zombie animations have me crackin up every once in a while.

I can see this getting beat before I get back to Bioshock or HL2.

How do you save your game?
I got to the 3rd safe room in the single player and wanted to quit, but I couldn't figure out how to save the game.
Now I have to start all over again.

You don't get to save. If I remember right you can just select which chapter you want to start from.. The real question is why are you playing single player? I would be more than happy to get you up to speed over some multi.

I have accepted your request, I assume to live within sort of playable distances, so hit me up next time you see me on steam for some newbie friendly play. Some of the players can be real dicks if your not on the ball the moment you show up.

Just don't go verses until you have a couple of multi campaign runs through with some friendlies. It can be brutal.

I just wanted to get a feel for the game.

The only other FPS games I've played on the computer over the last decade have been HL2, Portal, Bioshock & L4D2.
Wanted to get the controls down and know what the items do before I burdened anyone by being the no0b in an online multi match.

I'm actually having fun playing by myself. I'll get into the multi soon enough though. SUPER wanted to get a match going on Wednesday, this is my practice time so that I atleast appear competent.

1. Stick together
2. Move fast
3. Shoot zombies

That order, you'll win.

I can't shut off the 3rd floor alarm with the help of the computer. They are crack shots every other time but that massive horde invasion.

Anyone wanna get down on some L4D2 at some point today?
maybe for just an hour or 2?

You're in a for a treat. I like the general atmosphere of the first L4D personally, but enough extra were added and things tweaked to make the sequel unquestionably good. You may want to install the Add-On Support through Steam and download the conversions of the first game's campaigns. You can find them in both their original and modified formats. The modified formats add L4D2 goodies while not trying to stay 100% accurate. There are plenty of other good custom campaigns floating around as well for once you get bored with the few Valve-made ones. ;)

I just beat the final campaign, the Parish, and my stupid teammates kept robbing me of my "Kill a Tank with a Melee weapon" achievement.

I guess I made up for it by not going back to help them once I made it to the Helicopter, it was only fair with the amount of help they didn't provide me while crossing the bridge.

Then we shall have to multi sometime later tonite or tomorrow afternoon.

Because I'm tired of the Tank running past everyone else and not harming a single hair on their body but coming straight after me.
I can only slash with a Katana or machete so many times between getting bitch slapped by a tank before they steal the kill using a bullet.

I just kicked ass 2 games in a row.

Kraken won during my first game, but I admit that I had no idea what I was doing.
The 2nd and 3rd game were off the hook though.so much teamwork and strategy and chaos and mayhem.
Luv'n it 100%.

We gotta get a NWR group vs match going real soon.

I played the demo for this a couple weeks ago when I first got my 360.  I had a decent amount of fun, though it's so multiplayer focused that I can't see myself ever buying it considering I prefer SP games.
There was a Signature here. It's gone now.

specifically versus, as that is the only multi I have done so far

It's more separate the headset wearers from the non-head set wears.

Although it takes a lot more effort to nail those SI since I can't turn around and nail them in the head with a single shot from a sniper rifle from the other side of the mall, while your team mate is pinned and getting pounded on by commons without those auras.

With a team of headset users or people who work well together with one or two mics, tightening up the group a little works wonders. The key is to make sure everyone can maintain visual contact at all times. It's also important in normal verses, but with the example above, it's a lot more forgiving if someone fall behind.

The guys I play with and who Blacks played with are just guys who like to have fun playing. They are all good but they want to have a fun team with fun conversations. That is when I have the most fun in L4D.
