SUNDAY 8:50 AM: Below is Saturday Night Live's cold opening about the festering late night debacle about to end -- now possibly Tuesday after the MLK long weekend -- with NBC's $40 million "don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out" payment to Conan O'Brien that also frees him to compete against Jay Leno immediately.

If this is true, then I bet FOX will be all over Conan and get into the late nite talk show game.

Negative effects on any small amount of good programming that NBC may or may not have are like the people who get laid off when stupid third parties die: sad, but a necessary evil.

Gah couldn't get any of those to work, so I made my own.  Go CoCo!

LOL It's great seeing the Jay Leno fans in those Youtube videos think Jay Leno returning to the Tonight Show will somehow help the ratings.  The full strength of their fandom didn't save the Jay Leno Show from both sucking or performing.

And insanolord's right.  It sucks that some good writers and actors may lose their job.  It's rough, but them's the breaks.

I've got myself a Conan avatar to help support the cause.

I took it from the best thing he ever did, the Dudez a Plenti sketch, where he makes his own boy band. I did my best to find a link to a version of it online, but it doesn't seem to be on NBC's site and NBC uncoolly doesn't let people post their stuff on YouTube, and a Google search didn't produce any results. If people haven't seen it and there's interest I'll upload it somewhere, because it is truly great and needs to be experienced.

HAY GUYS I THINK IT'S TIME TO STOP FEELING SORRY FOR CONAN

NBC may give Conan O'Brien $40 million to go away
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

He doesn't want the money, he wants his own show. Also, he would use the money to pay his employees, like he did during the writers' strike. NBC would be completely retarded not to reverse their decision. Conan's ratings have more than doubled, Jay's have plummeted.

Did you see Jay explain the situation between himself Conan and NBC last night?
He completely side-stepped any blame in this and put it all on the NBC executives.
Tried to make himself look all innocent in this whole affair as if he was gonna retire and NBC just wouldn't let him.
Of course Letterman mocked him about it.

I really hope The Tonight Show crash and burns after Jay takes it back.

Remember that Chinese news station that did the CG video of what was happening with the Tiger Woods situation? They just did one for the whole NBC debacle.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ9m1an-pQ8&feature=player_embedded
Conan showed clips of it on his show tonite.

Tonight's show is another amazing humdinger (I don't know what that means, but it sounds good): Adam Sandler, Joel McHale, and musical guest Joss Stone will all be joining us - as well as an appearance by Ed Helms, and a SUPER SECRET MYSTERY CAMEO THAT WILL BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF.  Seriously.  Please don't wear socks while watching tonight's show, or they will get blown off.  People will be talking about this tomorrow, and you don't want to be the loser who has to hold back their tears because you didn't see what happened.  You've been warned, suckas.

I wonder who it is.

President of NBC
President of the United States?
Jay Leno?
David Letterman?
Howard Stern?

Il'd kill for some Pimpbot 3000...

Or how about the return of Dave Chappelle!? He can come back, announce his return to television, then him and Conan can harmonize an "I'M RITCH, BIOTCH!" while being backed by the Max Weinburg 7?

No. The Kentucky Derby Winning horse wearing a mink Snuggie watching unlicensed NFL Superbowl footage totaling a cost of 4.8million.

And Robin Williams and his irish "F*** YOU TO THE PEOPLE THAT CANCELED YOUR SHOW" song

But seriously, PeeWee has barely aged since I was 6.
