Ruined by egos? It was ruined by the former Tonight Show producer who now has a much higher position in NBC, and Jay Leno.

:Sigh: I personally liked Conan better than Leno.
What is today? Ah the 15th.So that means next week could be his last show.
Maxi is dead. I killed him and took his posts and changed genders.

Conan is good every night. He has been literally (ok, figuratively) raping NBC and Jay leno all week with the monologues, and even the guests have been helping too. The porno movie name segment was an instant classic.

I will miss his hair, that's for damn sure. I'm not taking this as sad news though (unless Conan ends up not getting any new work and dies homeless or something crazy) because maybe conan can be free of nbc's shackles once and for all and shine even brighter than his massive forehead ever has. They've always treated him like a bastard red-headed stepchild (his actual red hair probably didn't help) and after all these years, he doesn't need that ****.

He claims he has no backup plans but I wouldn't put it past him if he does; I'm sure the second he heard jay pulled that dick move, he knew what was in store for the not to distant future. He's got incredible foresight after all or else he'd never do those "in the year 2000" skits. Nbc never beleived in conan, and I'm sure over time conan didn't believe in nbc either.. all this media attention might just garner some massive hype for him to catapault himself above all this nbc drama with a new show elsewhere.

I think what bothers me most is that Jay Leno acts like all this stuff is happening to him and he has no control and it's NBC's decision and blah blah blah.  But of course he has control.  He can always say no to NBC and keep his word and let Conan keep the Tonite Show.

I think that's what bothers everyone and why other late night show host are really going after jay. Everyone and there mother knows jay could just say no to all this and NBC would suck his chin, but instead he plays stupid and let's it continue because he knows w/o the tonight show he's got nothing.

Even worse, what was the whole point of Jay Leno's retarded 10pm show?  It was like a gift to the other networks and it sucked so bad people are thinking it was probably meant to suck so it would sabotage Conan.  (Hey this is starting to sound eerily familiar.)

EDIT: HA! They said they wanted Leno back to get an "older audience."  Some things never change.

I was thinking about boycotting NBC for doing this to Conan, and then I realized that Conan's pretty much the only thing I watch on NBC anyway. The Office is good but I was never much of a fan and I love SNL but it hasn't been good for years.

Something NBC and Jay Leno may not realize is that, no matter what the reality is, whether it's a decision by Jay Leno or NBC execs or blah blah, that's not how it's going to play to the viewer.  The viewer will probably think Jay Leno is personally robbing Conan of something he was promised 5 years ago.  And that will affect ratings in the long term and create a an audience that wil leave NBC to go watch Conan's show (Ugh, please not Fox.  I hate Fox.)

It's extremely short-sighted of them to trade away somebody who plays for a younger crowd so you can get a definite, yet shrinking audience.

about Conan O'brien....

if he doesn't get what he wants i'm boycotting NBC....i would already be boycotting NBC, but if i couldn't watch Conan then i would have no reason to ever watch it.

pretty much what i said a couple days ago in the TV thread

yes, but if Chuck gets horrible ratings (even though I think Hulu rating are counted) then it moght not have a 4th season. 30 Rock might have the same issue with getting a 5th season.

lol I heard with Conan leaving he's had to leave behind the "string dance" with NBC. I wonder if Jay Leno will steal that too.
