Someone mentioned LoZ:FSA before, and it made me want to play that game again because it was one of those titles that exuded pure fun every second. I'd love to give it a second go, but i'd love even more to play it the way its meant to be played. Sadly i don't know anyone with GBAs and the proper cables to do such a thing. Oh well.

GBAs?  HA!  Come to my place - I'll show you how it's played.  Wii + 4 GameCubes+4 Game Boy Players. :)

Its not my fault! Easycure started it!

Though I did continue it instead of just ignoring him and posting something relevant... And BNM just had to mention the hairy nipple.

nipple nipple nipple nipple nipple

Sorry, had to get it out of my system. Like Austin Powers.

Agh, now I need to poke at it with a long stick. -> p o k e <-

So, about those Gamecube games. You need to play Dark Summit. You can have mine if you can't one somewhere else ;)

Not just a snowboarding game, but one with espionange and intrigue. And frustrating controls, lame ass missions, stupid enemies. Everyone needs to try it.

Also, the Gamecube version has a 'Only on Gamecube' label on the cover, though it was released at the same time on Xbox and PS2...

Wow.  I want to throw my 2 cents in on this Mario Kart madness.

I agree DD is the worst MK game.  The main reason why is it is the most luck based game in the series.  At the time it was out I had a roommate who was a master MK64 player.  Previous to DD release, we would still have lots of friends over and have MK64 parties.  In Vs. racing, he won 2/3 of the matches, with 4 players.  Skill could trump random items.

In DD... everyone won all the time.  Learning tracks, selecting specific character items... none of is could overcome the random AI and ridiculous amount of blue shells.  Not to mention the Cup races against AI.  I can't count the number of times I got hit by blue shells in 2nd place by the ridiculous AI.  Unlocking 150cc and mirror modes was one of the most painful GC experiences I had... 2nd only to F-Zero GX story mode.  >:(

DD is a luck-based crap fest.  Thank goodness we can still hook up MK64 when people come over to play.  Or even MKWii, which still isn't as pure as MK64, but online play with 12 people is its own bonus that makes the game fun in a different way.

I have to call BS on all of that, especially the F-Zero GX part. MK:DD is not even close to being as unfairly difficult as GX.A skilled MK:DD player will still beat an unskilled player most of the time, even with all items turned on. You are entitled to your opinion, even if I think you are completely wrong. The game is still fun and the only problem it has that hampers the fun are the controls.

Mario Kart Double Dash is one of the easiest Mario Kart games, at least for me it was. My favourite so far is the Mario Kart DS. Mario Kart Wii is not hard, but the AI likes to abuse me.

Mario Kart Double Dash!!'s most awesome feature for an indecisive person such as myself is the two-character karts. Sometimes I just can't decide which character I want to use, Toad or Birdo. Well, I don't have to, since I can just use them both. It takes a real load off.

I think most of us agree that MKDD is the worst of the series (even by generational standards), but being the worst of the best kart series ever isn't necessarily a bad thing. The worst MK game is still probably on par with the 1st or 2nd best non MK game made so far. that is still pretty good.

Now I have a quick question about MP2: Echoes. I've restored power to two of the temples and now they want me to visit the Sky Temple. I still don't have the Power Bomb or Spider Ball, is that the way its supposed to be?

I remember Dark Summit. IGN gave it a really poor rating and I would have passed it up save for the positive Planet Gamecube review. While it wasn't GREAT, I still found it quite enjoyable having a snowboarding/platforming game. It had some good ideas that I'd like to see in future games. I do wish I hadn't sold it because I'd love to go back and play it again at some point.

Thankfully it's pretty cheap in most places.

IGN gave DK64 a good rating, and look how that turned out.

<on-topic> Though I do not want to support the NEW REHASH CONTROL, I missed Pikmin 2 and MP2 during the Gamecube era. I suck for missing them and I suck for being tempted by Nintendo's greed for money. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat however, is an instant purchase. I fail at life.
