I dunno. Save and quit is an option when I'm in a round.  Don't just have to be on the tee either, it's there the whole hole it seems like.

Hmm, have you been able to do it in Career mode.  Its the Fed Ex cup I"ve been playing that won't allow the save.

I haven't tried the fed-x cup yet (still working on "easy" challenges) but I know the option is in regular Career mode as I did the 1st tournament before any of the challenges.

Yeah I saved mid-round on the 2nd tournament in career today to break for food.  But it will be a while before I reach Fed Ex cup at the end of the year.  I don't see why that should be different.  ???

My game is on POINT today!!!

I just completed my last two "easy" challenges(the two where you had to play 9 holes, i saved them for last) with ease and they 1st medium challenge 5 under with my eagle on a par 5 award.
I chipped in a thick greens shot from about 60ft out and also putted in a 53footer up hill.
I feel like I could take on Tiger himself right now.

I think I'm gonna be looking to play online tomorrow afternoon sometime. Who possibly available for a game of Golf?

Finally got the time this morning to dedicate some time t Tiger 10 and I really hope that EA is promoting this thing heavily.  The pure intuitive perfection of the M+ for golf is astounding.  I played through my first full 18 hole game in Career Mode and came in at 25 over par.. just about what I would expect were I actually out and about playing golf.

After spending some time tweaking my clubs I feel more confident in my accuracy (Oh, and I used some XP to improve my character too) and I'm not slicing every single time I hit the ball any more.

Most of all I'm just having a lot of fun.  My right arm aches from playing though.

If anybody want to laugh at my ineptitude my EA persona is Tanatoes.  Naturally.

I played my friend that is a TW veteran (PS2) and he hung with me in the game, but ultimately my putting skills beat him in both games we played.

His approach was pretty good since he knows golf, and using the clubs, which clubs to use in which scenarios, when to go up or down a club, changing the angle on the ball and all that. I was impressed with how much he could do while taking all that into effect, but I would still win since my putting skill was f'n amazing last nite. All he could say was "Your putting is f'n ridiculous!" & "do you ever miss anything under 15 feet?"

either way, we had a good match and now I have a headache from driking too much while playing.

Interesting Fact(?) that I learned last nite:
Do you know why Golf is only 18 holes?
Well, it used to be 23 holes, but since a bottle of scotch has roughly 18 shots in it, they would run out of liquor after the 18th hole.
So they shortened golf to just 18 holes to compensate.

Thats what my friend told me, but I have no idea if its true or not. Interesting either way,

I haven't played too much actual golf on TWPGA2010, but I've got to admit, the controls are phenomenal. Disc Golf is an absolute blast, it's just so realistic. I might have to go get a second WM+ soon. I've never played any actual golf (besides miniature), so there's definitely a learning process, but I'm not going back from the advanced controls. I'm really looking forward to Wii Sports Resort after playing this title.

Your create a character will appreciate the help for not destroying your resume before your ready to play with the big boys.

So that's what I did wrong...

After playing some exhibition stuff with friends, I jumped right into a tournament after I made my character and I got really annoyed with the fact that my guy was awful compared to everyone else. After roughing it through the first two tournaments and getting my stats and actual skill higher, I won the third tournament. I now like this game a lot more after I got the hang of it.

I have to agree with Brandogg. I'm looking forward to Wii Sports Resort a lot after playing this.

After playing some Disc Golf, I realized what bothered me about the regular game. It's a tiered sports game where you have better players and worse players due to statistics. Stuff like Wii Sports and Disc Golf don't have that barrier, so everyone has the same tools at the outset. There's no mode in Tiger Woods outside of Disc Golf that captures that Wii Sports feeling. The All Play mode basically plays the game for you and there's nothing between that and Standard, which is a pretty big gap.
The controls are fantastic, but I still think the barrier for entry is too high.

I read some of the reviews and am I the only one bothered that 1UP referred to Disc Golf as Frolf/Frisbee Golf. As someone who also reviews games, it bothers me when outlets don't refer to the game as the game refers to itself. That'd be like referring to Sega Soccer Slam as Sega Football Slam because you're European or something.

I finally nailed my swing today.  In the end I had to turn up the sensitivity of the remote to improve my game.. strange that.  And my Tiger '10 swing is NOT a good golf swing.  For a perfect hit every time I have to separate my swing from my follow-through, so now I swing down hard, sort of jerk the remote where contact with the ball would be expected, then follow through as a separate movement.  Sort of like I'm throwing down, then after hitting the ball jerking back up.

I still have crappy stats because I haven't completed all the challenges, but now that I'm birdying every hole (and eagling the par fives) everything should come together pretty quickly.

I missed an 8 foot putt for eagle on a par five earlier though.. man was I kicking myself for that.

On the screen where you can select to goto Tournament and below it is "My Resume", "Stats", "Skills"
Next to the tournament option on the left is Fed-X Cup, which is in the middle, and the challenges are the option all the way to the right.

Well still no dice from EA Support.  They are worthless. I think it's a TCP issue with my campus ethernet.  But EA can't even tell me which ports the one part of the game uses.

Of course since I can play Rock Band 2, also an EA game, and both manuals list what ports are used... well there's only one range of ports different between the two.  So I talked with campus IT today and maybe we'll get something worked out later this week with those ports.

Meanwhile, I'll just keep on winning and probably be at 80% or higher on all stats by the time I get to play you guys.

You know it would be Blue Overalls and a Red Cap that had a Giant M on it for the Wii version.
We're all children and only bought Tiger for a Mario appearance anyway. don't act like you didn't know.

i wasn't poking fun at you. Just 3rd parties in general. (remember that EA basketball game that had Mario & Luigi unlockable?)
Besides Dead Space hasn't released on Wii yet, so nobody would even know who it was

Good Morning America is on at work right now, and Tiger Woods is playing his latest game along with the cast of the show.
They have a nice big screen up for the display, the cast all have their likeness crafted in game, they even have a little green playing feild set up on the floor to look like they're on the green.

Whats wrong with it all thought?

They played the PS3 version and are all standing around pressing buttons.

Missed opportunity for Nintendo (and Motion+)?

Tiger should have known to take the Wii version with M+, & EA should have known too. Shame on both of them. No real fault to Nintendo on this one, but Nintendo could have insisted they use their version.

My only guess is that the Wii version already sold soo much more than the PS360 version that they needed to hype that version on live TV.

And for the record, TW10 & GST are two sports games that are perfect for casuals players with an interest in the sport.
Not only do the motion controls work, but its very pick up and play & designed to be enjoyed during short & long play periods.  EA should be pimping both of these games on every TV show that would take them, as that is how they are gonna tap into that massive Blue Ocean market that Nintendo has made all other publishers aware of.

Again, publicity matters.  It's important to make that big splash in a pond with a BIG ROCK rather than dropping a pebble.  Word of mouth works fastest when more mouths (and a variety of mouths) know about it in the beginning.
