I like everything.  It's SO GOOD that it would take away time from other games, and therefore it's been put away to collect dead human skin cells and clothing fibers.

I think it will only be available from the Nintendo Fun Club.  A typical Wii Dust packet should run about 400 coins and last about 6-8 weeks depending on playtime.
Wii Dust, meh. I'd rather have "Wii Make Excuses" from Nintendo. Become just like the third excuse makers in the real world, see how much you can make your games genetic and brown!

You should be playing "Little King's Waggle-Free Story" anyway.

I played it for an hour and let my friend borrow it.  I'll maybe come back to it after Rune Factory if we survive 2012.

Hooray!  Finally got my copy of Wii Kendo in the mail from Amazon yesterday.  I understand there may be some other mini-games packed in on the disk as well if I ever get bored of sword play.  I'm having a lot of fun.

I wonder if people are already practicing for Blindfolded Kendo, to be the real-life ZATOICHI: THE BLIND SORDGUY.

I think I'll try this out.  And no, Nintendo won't condone it.

Without a dance number after you beat the champ, it just won't be the same.

The only reason I am willing to give S_B's comments some credit is because I've seen the same problem with Balance Board games that need to be re-calibrated constantly.

I figured out when your playing sword play dual if you run out of time and the game is a tie. The circle you play the final round in goes to tiny to make it faster.

It's pretty cool little animation as it cuts and lowers the playing field to the little blue circle.
 ;D

You can counter spamming in Dual with some well placed blocks. So it's not a guarantee win. My friend swings wildly and he didn't win every match. I still think Nintendo should have put a ' arm meter' or something where if you swing a ton your arm gets tired. Something like that would have gone a long way.

Played it and I'm not impressed.

These are definitely tech demos, and the only one that holds my interest was the swordfighting, except that it's not that good either: you're still locked to a circle so it's not like you can move the remote any way you want and hit that way.

And what is with the sheer amount of recalibrating the game requires? Before every swordfight, you need to aim the cursor at the screen and you need to occasionally set the controller down on its face so it can recalibrate. I expected a BIT of recalibration, but this is too much. How can you design a game around WMP without the constant recalibrating destroying any sense of immersion the game might've otherwise had? "Congratulations, noble hero, you've defeated the evil troll king! Now your sword could probably use a rest so put it face down on the table in front of you."

I'll be curious to see how Red Steel 2 turns out. I need to see how this tech works in an actual game before I decide if I like WMP or not.

They just have to be creative. Say it is a Zelda M+ game and after every boss you 'lay down your sword' to take a break. They have you lay down Link's sword and then you watch him go swimming or catch faeries or something. Or if the sword is also a master key of sorts so that you have to place it a certain way to access specific areas.

You just have to be creative in how you present and execute the calibration.

I've not noticed any drift in the 1:1 of the sword play - just out of curiosity, have those who are experiencing drift gone into the options and turned off the Wii pointer calibration?  It's my understanding that when you point at the screen and hit A at the start of each round it re-calibrates then.

For M+ Zelda it wouldn't have to have you lay the remote down to zero out - the M+ golf just re-calibrates when you point the remote down and hit B.  Just have the game prompt Link to 'salute' his opponents or draw his sword by pointing the remote at the ceiling and then the screen.. that should provide enough data to fix the remote's position for the duration of a sword fight.

I'm really having a lot of fun with this game!  I don't think the calibration issues are as bad as some of you seem to think.  It doesn't really take me out of the game or anything.

I've been busting my balls trying to get all the hidden targets in archery; since I found out about those my archery score has gone way down due to me missing all the time, lol.

Flying the airplane is also a lot cooler than I though it'd be.  All in all I'd say this is a great package, there are just tons of little extras in the game.  This already has replaced Wii Sports as my go-to casual game of choice when I'm with others.

OK SB, I understand you are being funny and sarcastic, but its bordering towards trolling now. We know you aren't impressed with Wii Sports Resort and are head over heels in LOVE with Little King's Story. We don't need to be reminded of it in every thread that deals with it and you don't need to tell people that they need to buy and play.

No need to pick fights with people over it either.

And this applies to EVERYONE. People, enjoy your games, criticize them if you need to but please no need to pick fights or make a statement out of it.

There's nothing wrong with WSR. It's just that, for once in a long time, there's an amazing 3rd party Wii game out there.

Enjoy WSR, but I hope LKS doesn't get overshadowed by it.

Sorry, I won't derail the thread any further.

If you truly want LKS to succeed being dramatic, preaching about it and making people feel guilty about it will not help. In fact its annoying.

This discussion end here. Everyone please stay on topic and no need to bring it up.

Over the weekend I was over at a friends and this game was a huge hit. We played pretty much everything, but spent the most time with Basketball. That 3-on-3 mode is easily going to be the one we play the most in multiplayer; James was right on the podcast that most of it doesn't require Motion+ at all but it was just so fun (especially that I finally got the shooting down, I got 20 twice in 3 point mode). I thought Swordplay was somewhat underwhelming in duel mode against the computer but once I tried playing against a human that understood the game we had some pretty epic duels. Our other favorites were Archery and Table Tennis, which seem like the ones I'll be more likely to play single player

Just finished reading the Iwata Asks interview for Resort.  Awesome stuff.

And true story, brought Resort to a friend's place over the weekend, had a blast.  But at the opening sky diving sequence, the featured Mii was none other than... Ron Jeremy.

Ron Jeremy would take to the skies and in the first group, join hands with MY Mii and Michael Jackson.  Indeed.

I've played a bit of Resort and I don't feel I need to calibrate often enough for it to be bothersome to me. I'm afraid to play Little King's Story cause, well, let's just say someone who is close to me is WAY too obsessed with it.

are there more people here you know besides those two?

My guess is that Smash prefers LKS because he doesn't have to worry about you showing him up with your athletic videogaming prowess
