I would love to see Bebop and Rocksteady in the game maybe with a darker edge to them like they were in the original pilot. I'm sorry but TMNT Comic fans bother me, the TMNT universe is more then the comics, it includes the 80s show, archie comics, the new show and the original comic. This elitist bull on who belongs and doesn't belong based on the comics is tiresome. TMNT was at its greatest popularity during the 80s show, without it you would not see this game and the comics would be a relic for nerds to bring up in passing. This is a game to celebrate TMNT overall not one particular incarnation but Peter Laird/Eastman in their arrogant hissy fit probably won't allow it to be so, they likes to forget they created Rocksteady and Bebop for the TV series, it was only after they became comic relief that they had anything bad to say about them. They were formidable in the pilot, even Krang was much more evil (Heck he was a mass murderer in Dimension X).

You ma'am/sir(I forget) couldn't be more wrong!

Seriously though, that is a valid argument, but as far as i'm concerned the only things that should count in this game are the Comic characters and the latest cartoon characters. There were Bebop and Rocksteady cameos in it, you could have them instead.

They weren't cameos, one was that stupid ninja rhino dressing up like Rocksteady, and in Flash Forward there was that pig that looked sort of like Bebop. Like I said this is a celebration of TMNT and the 80s show IS the most important part of TMNT's popularity, even the new show, while great, never had quite the pull of the phenomenal success of the 80s show. To forget what made TMNT popular and apart of our culture is, sorry to say, elitist and short sighted. I think one of the primary reasons why the new TMNT didn't come close to reaching the success of the 80s show was because there weren't many recognizable characters from the 80s show (though I have to say Utrom Shredder was a pretty neat homage to Krang). I'd love to see the dark Bebop and Rocksteady from the pilot expanded upon in this game (or the new show but sadly that looks like it is dead).

They were cameo enough, I say. I never want to see those 2 goons again! At least not how they were. And there was no way that the turtle revival was ever going to reach what it once was, Bebop and Rocksteady or not.  It was the 80's cartoon that allowed the turtles to really soar in the popularity polls which allowed all kinds of other things to be done. But it was just waaaaay to goofy half the time. If the Bebop and Rocksteady that were origonaly intended made an appearance then that would be ok. Also I hated flash forward myself, but the Bebop lookalike also appeared in the same few episodes as when the Rhino dressed up like Rocksteady. Both were great to watch, and I did like that the writers payed homage to them, as well as krang in another episode.

They had their billion years to shine, but let the characters that never really got a chance be able to get out there. Also I would really prefer that non TMNT characters stay out!

Simple if you are going to have a Rhino in this game...go for Gen from the Usagi Universe.  He appeared in several of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cartoon shows, and he is just completely badass.

I would see him playing as a Wario/Gannondorf type character with an actual sword.  Slow, unusual attacks, but very powerful.

Usagi of course would be the sword master to beat in the game.  (Leo has never really bested him).

Nightwatcher is Raphael's alter ego in the TMNT movie I believe.

Well, if the Technodrome is in the game, then the characters from old cartoon series as plausible additions.  I believe the Technodrome was only in the old cartoon series.

Went to Comic-Con this past weekend and got to put some good time into the game.

I thought the graphics were fantastic, the enviornments and characters look fantastic. It feels allot like the original smash bros in that it is much slower like that game. Not nearly as fast paced as melee or brawl.

You can roll and dodge in mid air just like smash bros, by blocking and by moving in a certan direction. Throws work very similiar, except you press both attack buttons to throw then move in a certain direction to finish it. It's not as simple as smash bros though. Not everyone's moves are performed exactly the same as far as I can tell.  But I saw some people doing some really outrageous mid air jumping off the wall techniques(which seem to play a much bigger role than in smash) that I couldn't seem to get the hang of.

I played with both the Wii remote and Nunchuk and both played just fine. More people in the game does make it allot more fun just like smash. But if people start to get competetive with it like me, then they will be playing more 1 vs 1's than anything and enjoy that even more.

After I played I took a picture with my girl friend. A good day was had by all.

His name is Krang. Krang is part of a entire race of alien beings. In the 2003 cartoon series they even reference Krang in one episode.

There is the 2003 cartoon series on youtube. I have been watching it recently.

There was a Q&A over on the Ubi Smash up forums.

A couple choice questions and answers.

Quote
4. Similar to Super Smash Bros. Brawl, will single-player modes have several non-playable boss characters?

A.There are boss characters that can be unlocked after you defeat them in the Arcade mode.

6. Will story modes contain a separate cut-scene and ending for each characters or is it a single-based story?

A.There are separate cut-scenes for each character in the game, complete with their own endings.

8. Besides different "special" moves and range, will the characters have different abilities or special properties that make them more unique from the others (e.g. ability to move faster than other characters, ability to jump higher than other characters, ability to jump more times than other characters, etc.)?

A. Each character has been designed to be unique in the way they’re played. Elements such as range and speed all come into play. For example, Donatello will have longer range in his attacks than Raphael, while Raphael will be faster than Donatello. Also, characters will all have different attacks & special moves.

There will be more Q&A's this was just the first batch.
