It doesn't say which version of Ninja Turtles it's based on; there's like, half a dozen by this point.

I personally want to see the TMNT series of the 80's and the New TMNT series. Not Fast forward but the previous cartoon.Throw in some of the characters from TMNT:Tournament Fighters and Turtles and Time and you got a good cast of characters.

I think they said it's not based on any in particular...Hopefully they go all-out on the character list (and yeah, I like the idea of bringing back some of those original ones from Tournament Fighters, if they can... =O)

Tournament Fighters character we all character from the Archie Comics TMNT series, and I would also like to see them return.  I hope they do a full exploration of the comic, TV, and movie Turtles universes.

I am excited for this game.  The Ninja Turtles are a great franchise for a game if done right.

And if they put into the game an adventure mode that is like traditional Ninja Turtles Arcade games (which I can actually see happening) then this is gold.

Even if the game is PISS POOR if Usagi Yojimbo and Gen are in the series it will be an instant buy.  Actually, I would be calling Stan Sakai up and try to get several of this characters in the game.  Jei would be a great secondary villain in the game.

They'd have to go through Dark Horse to get Usagi Yojimbo, but that'd be awesome.  Personally, I want  Leatherhead, Fugitoid, and weirdness like that pizza-shooter toy.

Tanookisuit:  Not true Stan Sakai fully owns his characters Dark Horse only publishes his work.  They would only need to get Stan Sakai's approval.  Which is why Usagi has appeared in many TMNT comics, toys, cartoons...and actually for that very same reason why Stan Sakai has been able to write a TMNT story within Usagi Yojimbo (Book 3) which to me is the BEST Ninja Turtles Story ever told.

Anyway, I would love Leatherhead, Fugitoid and classic Krang and such...but I would hate to get anything from Fast Forward in the series.

A lot of people here seem to be getting real excited about some "dream on" speculation.  Do any of you honestly expect characters from the Archie comics and the old cartoon show and stuff like that to show up?  No where does it say this will be the supreme, crossing all variations of the TMNT franchise fighting game.  It's just a game based on TMNT and that probably means the most recent variation of it.  Remember this is a licenced game and those are for kids and/or parents that don't know better.  They bust out Baxter Stockman as a fly and none of the kids today will recognize it.  Odds are very unlikely that this will be designed with fans of the old cartoon show in mind.  Odds are this will be current and it's silly to get all excited about Usagi Yojimbo maybe showing up because odds are he isn't.

You can get excited about the concept and who is developing but you're just going to disappoint the crap out of yourself if you don't keep your expectations rooted in reality.

As for me.. Ubisoft's publishing it.  Um, yeah, that's an "ignore unless reviews say otherwise" flag.

Well considering the game is quite clearly going to be a SSB-inspired game, and there are SSB team members on it, it's not THAT out-there to hope that there will be legacy characters, but eh, what's the fun in just assuming every game will be **** until proven otherwise?

Also, Ubisoft is merely the publisher...Shitty developers can still publish good stuff (Ubisoft with No More Heroes, Sega with MadWorld, etc...)

Even though he fully owns the characters, I bet Dark Horse gets a cut of licensing deals.  But I could be wrong.  I can find out (but I won't).  Either way, I'm very excited!

Tanookisuit:  Perhaps they do...it just depends on the deal.  I will ask Stan when I see at Staple Comic Convention...because I am curious about that.

Ian Sane:  Well, here is the deal Leatherhead isn't owned by Archie, they had him in the current cartoon series.  As well as Baxter Stockman, Krang (sorta) and several other characters.  I do not believe all the characters from the past will be included, but I do believe some of them will be included.  Now, the idea of Usagi in the game is further fetched...but not impossible.  In fact, I would say that it is actually more likely than one might originally think.  Now to add Gen or Jei is probably pushing it.  But it would still be fun none the less if they did.

Truthfully, I just really want a Usagi Yojimbo animated cartoon so bad.

Ian, seriously, stop fucking over review. Zach and Wiki isn't any good, and there's loads of good third party Wii games you have no fucking clue about.

Anyway, i'm excited about this game, it could be better than Brawl. Not sure why I got so bored of Brawl, possibly the characters.

So ex-smash devs say "We are capable of doing better online than Smash and we will in this game."

Well they didn't say that exactly, but I still feel like they just slapped me in the face.
