I downloaded the "Low" remix for sh*ts and gigs today.  It's very dull on guitar, but fun as hell for vocals and drums.

I'm dissapointed at Travis Barker for such a horrible remix :(

I've never heard any of his other remixes (if he has any others).  they any good?

I've only heard one other, for some Busta Rhymes song and.. well no. Its not good. I didn't mean i was dissapointed in that one remix, but remixes in general. He's a talented drummer and he did some good hip-hop stuff for the Transplants, so i was expecting better i guess. "Low" is one of those mainstream songs that you can't help to dance to if you hear it at a club/party, and I was hoping Travis would put some of his personal touches on it from all the various bands/styles he's done over the years.. and instead i got a flaming bag of dog turd from a muscian i respect.

Also, after several hours of delays, the free Bruce Springsteen tracks are finally available.

But they're only free until the 5th.

The DLC for GHWT has been absolute **** as of late. Old Time Rock n' Roll is in the fucking commercial, it should have been included on the disc - just like GH3 w/ Slither (Velvet Revolver) in the commerical - wasn't on the disc, you had to pay extra for it, weeks after the release. Neversoft can't seem to figure out who their audience is.

I'm glad with the crappy dlc, keeps money in my pocket :)

Also, is there still no friend code thread for this? I think I only have 3 people on my roster, and one of them hasn't added me back yet.. the bastard!

are you upset by the lack of METALZ?

I actually want some metal for the sake of shutting up b*tchy ass crybabies know as metal heads.   They're the cancer of the GH forums.

I figured the DLC would keep this game interesting for years but my friends and are already bored of the songs I have.  I think the problem is that they release DLC in themes but if you don't like the theme then that weeks DLC is worthless to you.  The entire February DLC is worthless to me.  I don't like Paul McCartney or Bob Seger and the acoustic pack is all wussy crap I don't want.  I do want the Bruce Springsteen stuff thankfully.

If they released three very distinct songs each week that targeted different audiences then I think it would work a lot better.  But the way they're doing it you can go a month easily with nothing catching your fancy.

It's also annoying when a band has a track pack but it's all album tracks from their latest release.  I think most people want to play the big hits by a band, those songs everyone knows.  Only really die hard fans want to play some filler track no one will remember that is only used to promote the new album.  I imagine that's a problem more to do with the artist though.  Bruce Springsteen did it a much better way by combining one of his biggest hits with a song from the new album.  But Oasis offering three tracks from their latest album?  They haven't had a decent song in over ten years.  Put Supersonic on however and now we're cooking.

No, I'm not upset by the lack of METALZ, though I would be more than happy if they added some (decent) metal. Activision (the dictators who tell Neversoft what to do) wants more commercial music, so that's what we get - **** like Ryan Adams, Incubus, etc as DLC, and crap on the disc like Korn, Michael Jackson, and Sublime. If you're gonna give me commercial rock, at least give me something that's *fun* to play - it is a BAND game after all...and if you're gonna release crap DLC, don't dedicate the whole month to it, and put out more than 3 songs a week. They could put all of this month's songs together and call it the "wuss pack", and then release the real DLC, to please the fans who actually buy the stuff.

"Beat It" as crap?  you fail.

Anyways, I'm quite happy with the DLC.  Maybe it's because my taste in genres of music is pretty random.

I do have to agree with you though, that none of the DLC, save for a few tracks, has me going "OMG OMG OMG".  The Hendrix pack got me excited and then it wasn't released for the wii.

This. Even if you don't like the man or his music, half some respect for Mr. Van Halens awesome solo that makes the song worth it ;)

That would be nice to finally see.

I haven't D/L'd anything since early January. I loved the Eagles stuff and a few random tracks, but nothing has terribly stood out to me. Maybe its also because I have Bock Band 2 and they started with 50 DLC songs when the store launched. I can go back in every week or so and even if the new stuff is not very interesting I can grab one or two of the others I haven't tried from the back catalog.

"Outtathaway!" is a great track and the low remix is SO much fun on drum that's it's worth the price of admission by itself.  Also the Southern Rock Track Pack is very worthy of a DL.

but if the Hendrix packs do finally come to wii, I'd be happy for quite sometime.

The solo in Beat It is pretty good, but only because it's part of Beat It. If Eddie put it in the middle of Jump or Panama it wouldn't seem as good as it does. EVH has a very weird style, where it sounds sloppy, but it's actually very precise and laid out. It's kind of like spending a lot of time on your hair to make it look like you don't spend any time on your hair. I think.
