They could do so much better with Queen.  Their catalog is just too good to not capitalize on.  You got Under Pressure (live), Another One Bites The Dust, Radio Ga Ga, Hammer To Fall, and that's without even looking over to my iTunes.

But what I really want to know is, if/when will we get some old GH songs with the added drums and vocals?  That and Prom Queen by Lil Wayne.

Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits will be out this Summer I believe. It will have 48 songs spaning all the previous GH games.

One question...

I heard that the Wii version requires multiple wiimotes in order to play as a band. I know this applies to the guitar, but does it also apply to the drums and the microphone?

Yes.  You need 4 Wiimotes to play as a full band.  The singer needs it to select menus and things, and the drums work like the guitars.

I see. So you need a second guitar to play bass?

If you only have 2 wiimotes can you at least play 2 player with one guitar and the drums?

My nephew really wants World Tour (many of his favorite songs are in there). While he also has a 360 I want to get it for his Wii because...

- He uses his 360 constantly, meaning that its likely to get RROD sooner
- Since our video store doesn't carry Wii games I want to get more games for his Wii, and Guitar hero WT makes sense.

He mainly wants the drum kit. He's also interested in the mic but I don't know if any of us would be willing to sing in English.

I'm looking for the best deal so I can either give it to him for his birthday or graduation.

The only problem I have with WT for the Wii is that it can't connect more than two wiis together on wifi.  Another small annoyance is that it is missing some of the DLC catalog, but that's completely opinion driven.  It's the 8 metallica songs from Death Magnetic.  The wii is finally getting the Hendrix tracks tomorrow.

Other than the wii connecting thing I don't have a problem with world tour.

Also, if he wants to dig into DLC make sure he gets an SD card.

Pap, you just missed the Amazon deal from Monday: $120 for the whole band kit... it's the price that finally convinced me to get it (I already have Rock Band).

I'm really excited to try it out, honestly. Should be here by Friday!

You don't like singing in English. People speak Spanish over there in Puerto Rico as well, right? I'm pretty sure there are a couple songs that are not in English and I'm positive a few are Spanish.

Too bad he's not connected, there are a host of free songs you can get as well. And Within Temptation comes out in a few days I believe. Plus the Wii is getting the Hendrix DLC this month as well.

Its not that we don't like to sing in English, its that we don't know that many English songs by heart. We can play them with the guitar and drums, but singing is another league. But we will give it a try, though once we get it.

I don't know a lot of those songs as well. If it's set to easy then you shouldn't have any trouble. You could fart into the mike on easy and still ace the song. I play songs on guitar and once I know them well enough I fell comfortable singing them.

the Hendrix stuff is coming tomorrow, Stratos.

Is it tomorrow? I thought we had another week on that. Did we ever find out if Wii was getting the new Hendrix songs as well or are they only going to be the old ones?

We did get all 6.  Huzzah!  Awesome stuff too.  I can't get past the solos on Fire and Foxy Lady. :(

Oh, wow, all six. I may need to fire up my Wii sooner rather than later. I liked his on-disk songs.

On another note, is that you on the Guitar Hero boards with the same name? I just noticed your post on the April DLC wishlist. I'm not a member but I lurk there from time to time to get GH news.

People have such different tastes in music that people are bound to not like you picks. I like that you mentioned Elvis though. We need Elvis. What's a guitar game without the King?

I'm really saddened that not one of you has ever mentioned the Tool songs or the special Tool-themed venue.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

i'm tired of band centric games.

If we need one more band centric game though, I would be quite excited for a GH/RB: Led Zeppelin.
