Been awhile since I've posted here. Forgot all my old info and couldn't regain it for some reason, I had to make a new profile.
I really don't see what the big problem is. For awhile now, plenty of people of all sorts, have been wanting some type of voice communication on the Wii. Now that we finally get something, it went straight to the firing range. Everyone wants to nitpick it and a lot of people just aren't happy with it. I can understand where most of the general skeptics are coming from, but there is always a simple work around to everything. I really like the idea that you can hear over your TV and everyone has a chance to hear/talk in the room. I am concerned about BG noise too, but I think this really isn't to serious of a problem and Nintendo most likely has worked around a lot of things with it. I never really cared for the headphones on XBox Live, and I always had the setting for the voices to come out of the speakers instead. I always thought the game sounds were way to high compared to voices, and I always had a hard time hearing. Even when the Inbound was at full, and I turn down my sound settings in the game. I don't remember exactly, but I think if you turn down the game sound settings, it would turn down the voices too even. That is my only concern with WiiSpeak at the moment.
I also understand a lot of people don't want children to hear vulgar language too. I know it's an inconvenience, but can't you just plug headphones into your television or sound system? Even wireless headphones these days aren't as expensive as they used to be. I also wouldn't doubt that Nintendo has some plan for this, and like the DS, you would need each others friends code to talk to each other over mics. It brings in some limitations, but having hopefully a good technology like this will bring a lot more to the Wii experience, and brings something to the system people have been begging for since the beginning. I guess I really don't see the problem here, and personally think people are nitpicking to much at this. There's always a simple work around and I think I'd rather have the option of everyone hearing/talking in the room. Either way your going to be limited, but I think WiiSpeak has more options than headphones all together.
