Lock Man, just to confuse the Japanese :p

that reminds me.

i've always wanted to make a megaman game that parodied the whole megaman series. We know that Rock Mans name is a musical term, and Roll, Bass/Forte, Trebel, Beat etc are too. i wanted to make one where all the bosses had generic music names like

Smooth Jazz Man or Folk Rock Man.
Their powers would weild you things like Ice Solos, Fire Arpeggios, Earth Lyrics (WIND WAKER REFERENCE!...sort of) or Kenny G. Ray

i'm glad i never learned to make flash games or anything

Parodius Man?

For never was a story of more woe

Needs Moai Man then. Or Moai Woman, considering how Parodius dresses them up.

This is a great idea...and very funny.  It would have been great to see this done.

I would almost want the game to seem normal until the bosses and then have cheesy midis, and crazy boss battles for the game.

thanks. my idea was to make the boss select screen just read things like "?????Man" or have the name read very glitchy and have only "man" visible, then when you select the screen would freeze for 5 seconds in a random color. I'm sure everyone here old enough to play the original NES games (or any original NES game) would get the joke.

Then, yeah pretty much like you described, normal theme based levels until you get to the boss and realize "oh ****, i'm fighting smooth jazzman!" but the one problem i had with that idea was i'd have to have the character name come up during their intro, which means adding something that wasn't in the original MM formula.

(Rant Time: i hate how from MMX4 onward they started using "WARNING" before boss intros, so stupid. Oh and ddint MM8 do this too?)

Displaying "Warning" is all the rage now, no idea which game started it though.

I'm almost positive X4 came out before MM8, too lazy to look it up though.
Either way it was one of those two that definately ruined boss battles

X4 basically ruined a decent series that was showing mild signs of downfall.

MM8 made sure the old series would be irrelavant for the next few generations.

Some new info over on gonintendo says that charged shots and sliding might not be in the final game. Not sure how credible this is because, and i dont think this needs repeating, its from gonintendo.

I don't know how i feel about this if its true. I liked having charged shots at the ready and sliding was pretty useful. If it makes the game more difficult though.. i'd love not having them.. but they feel like such a big part of megaman now.. i'm really torn.

Mega Buster sucks.  I can go either way on the slide.

If they add a double jump, I will punch Inafune in the face, so help me God.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Sliding should be kept (useful for level design) but the charge is arguable, it does make the peashooter pretty strong and reduces your dependence on weapon energy for powerful attacks...

Inafune says that the music is going back to Megaman 2 quality music. So I ask everybody what are your favorite tracks out of the glorious Megaman music?

The Megaman 2 stage select and the default "boss theme" before the level starts are my two favorites.

Pretty much the entire Megaman 2 soundtrack.  Every track in that game was amazing in my opinion.

Total disagreement, I love the Mega Blaster and SLIDE. They were both important parts of the evolution of the series and for it to be axed is sad. I bet even Rush will be limited even though he made progress in later iterations (EspeciallY MM3 my FAVORITE MM game).

I would have to agree I love the entire Megaman 2 soundtrack. MM3 and MM4 to a lesser extent. One of the things I like doing on the internet when I am not conversing with you is listen to VG music and watch anime.Pro that is one of my faves. GP I started playing Megaman with that game. I saw it in my NP and I had to have it. One of the reasons was Rush.
