I had been quietly watching this thread, since I recently kicked out a housemate, we did it badly, other housemates were drunk and text messaged him from the safety of 200kms away while I was in the house with him and had to put up with his passive aggressive **** for the next month. But didn't really have any advice to offer. Since reading your mega update uh, I guess mine went pretty smoothly.

I was thinking I should just let RABicle stop by and do the kicking out for me since he needs places to stay.   :P
Oh god. You were going to set this guy on me? Holy ****.

Since he has no insurance and cannot afford to get stitches, I take him to the nearest gas station where he procures some bandages and ghetto-rigs his wound.  We return home, and he collects a few things to last him for a couple days, and departs.
I hope you got him butterfly strips / steri strips whatever they're called. Holy ****.

Also in a semi related note I was playing strikers today and my housemate stole my chips that I was eating and as I was playing oniine and couldn't pause I did the simple thing and kicked him in teh nuts and he flipped out and punched me several times until he realised I wasn't resisting at all cos cos Mario Strikers and then I got my chips back. I'll apologise in the morning for kicking him in the nuts.

If I can handle him I'm sure you can, Rab.   ;)

He was actually mentioning this as we were going to the gas station (apparently he's done this **** before and was well prepared?).  He's on his loose now and I'm sure he'll get what he needs.  He actually called me a few minutes ago asking if I was still shook up over the whole thing.  I said no because I had finally managed to pass out.  He just asked me to shut off his computer and stuff and said he will probably be back in a day or two to get some things.

I LOLed.

Thanks for the kind words everybody.  And remember that no matter what you think is the worst case scenario, there's always something waiting to expand your horizons (of what crazy is).

Damn, where in California do you live? If it was in a major city, then I guess it's normal. I'm moving out into an apartment or a house soon with friends. Now I'm scared of having my friend's friends over now (lol)

Well cities like San Franciso and San Diego are ******* crazy. Though the majority of it is typically normal, there's always the little tidbits that do file under crazy. lol

Sorta-Mega Update:

Crazy McFuckNuts was just arrested last night for a hit and run vehicular manslaughter.  My friend just called me this morning and said he heard it on the news, so I got up and checked the interwebs to find his name mentioned, the car he drives, and his age all confirming that it was him.

****, now I'll never get his stuff out of my house.

No kidding.  Anyone know a typical sentence for something like this?  Am I going to have to worry about an old friend leaving prison 30 years from now who blames me for his downward spiral back into drugs who has spent all his time in the joint plotting his revenge?

The weird thing is, while he was doing this I was sitting on my couch SIMULATING hit-and-run vehicular manslaughter.  :-\

There should be e-waste recycling services in your area.  Just call them up and they'll stop by to take his computer off your hands for free.

I think I'll call up his grandparents and see what's going on first.  That's if they want to talk to me, I'm sure they have their hands full right now.  If I can't get ahold of anyone and he goes to jail, I'll probably just get it hauled off somewhere.

Depends on a lot of factors, such as if he was intoxicated or not...The fact that it was a hit-and-run will probably give him at least a couple years...

I think the fact that is was MANSLAUGHTER might give him a few years, like ten. EDIT: Seems like I may be overstating this.

Call his grandparents. He wont actually be sentanced for a few months. There's plenty of time to get him his stuff back. Lord knows he'll need the money to pay for drugs in prison.

I called them but got no answer.  His phone is off, I thought maybe someone else may have it.  Do cops confiscate that stuff or give it to family?

And yeah, I don't know what he was on, but the news report says "under the influence of a controlled substance."

Maybe the rules are different there in Australia, but here in the U.S. you can get as little as one year for manslaughter, or not even get any time at all if it the conditions are right...

OBJECTION!
Mr Maverick is not (heh I assume) a psychiatrist and is therefore not capable of diagnosing the crazy housemate in that way. (Don't mind me I'm actually doing an evidence assignment right now that has to do with this stuff somewhat.)

This is true.  Besides, my experience earlier isn't related to this case, and I don't know how the cops would take to me calling them up and saying, "Hey that guy you got locked up for vehicular manslaughter?  He went crazy on me and my roommate about a month ago and threatened us with a knife.  Thought you'd like to know, see ya!"
