Topic: Predict the final character roster!

With the Japanese release of Brawl imminent sooner or later the final list of characters will be revealed. So like the daily update thread lets make a game out of it. Predict here who's going to be in the final roster, as well as the final number of characters that will be in the game. Like in the other prediction thread when the final roster is revealed you'll get a point for each character you get right. The poster with the most correct guesses wins!

However, in order to keep things fair and balanced for every character that you get wrong you lose one point. So don't think of making 40 character lists in hopes of getting some of them right.

5 bonus points if you correctly guessed the roster number!

So let's get this thing started with my predictions:

Just a suggestion. I think that in order for people not to list an impossible number of characters to improve their chances, we should get a point for every character we get but have another point substracted for everyone we predict that isn't in.

The more I think about it, the more I think Mii has an excellent chance.

Playing as your Mii in M&S: Olympics was actually pretty damn neat, and the same experience in SSBB would just be awesome.

I expect a Mii character with a uniform size/weight and moves based around Wii Sports.

Do people really think an Ouendan character has a decent chance at being playable? I'm a huge fan, and I was surprised and happy just to see the series represented as a trophy.

That's an excellent idea. I'll update the first post with it.

And yeah, the Mii has a big chance of being in the game.

1. Miyamoto ADORES the Miis. In his GDC keynote he said that he spent YEARS working on a caricature program so that players could insert themselves into the games. So, when a team came up with the the Mii idea he EMBRACED it with open arms.

2. The Miis are extremely popular right now. They are pretty much an icon for Wii gaming. Not only that, the Miis are the stars of 3 of the biggest Wii titles; Wii Sports, Wii Play and Wii Fit. They also have a channel dedicated to them.

Since Brawl is a celebration of everything Nintendo it would be silly of them to just make them save file icons.

So yeah, Miis have a good chance of being playable.

Bill: I admit I may have counted wrong when I posted my prediction. When I checked the site I didn't count ZS Samus and Sheik since they are part of a main character, so maybe that messed up my count.

Luigi: I admit that I see Ouendan being ATs, but can't a guy dream? :p

Ouendan has two votes on Sakurai's poll, same as Lucas and only one fewer than Olimar.

I admit I expect them to be an AT, but I'm not ruling them out as playable since they ARE on the poll with multiple mentions.

I didn't count them either...There are 23 character slots so far, so you still went over by two...So will you take two out or will you increase your total count by two?

The problem with that is...

1. Sakurai wanted Lucas to appear in SSB since the 64 game. Even if Lucas got 0 votes he still would've been in the game because he represents the latest Mother game and because Sakurai wanted him since day one.

2. Olimar comes from Pikmin, Miyamoto's baby and one of Nintendo's popular IPs. Once again, even if people gave a crap about him he would've ended in the game.

It all depends on Sakurai and what he thinks of Ouendan.

Oh and Bill, I fixed my prediction. I erased Ouendan and King K. Rool.

Oh I've been waiting for someone to make a topic like this for a long time.  So far every character I've thought would be in the game has been confirmed.  Now it's time to see if I can go 100%.

I would HATE if Wind Waker Link or King K Rool ended up in the game.   love Wind Waker, but the style difference would be too jarring.  And King K Rool has a terrible name and awful design.  

Other than those 2, I agree with Luigi Dude's list.  

Personally, I'd love if Pacman or Prince from Katamari Damacy ended up in the game.

I think King K. Rool would make for an awesome Brawl fighter.  His moveset could go a little something like this:

Side B: Throw his crown forward and have it boomerang back
Neutral B: Throw canonballs
Down B: Causes an explosive barrel drum to fall immediately from above in front him
Up B: K. Rool's cape propels him up and forward to hit any opponents in the way with a body splash

That's my view on him.
