In the video I just posted!  Retro sound effects and slow blast radius, too! =D

The new Kirby Urchin enemy item is also seen in the first fight!

I can't see why not.

It's a pretty simple cosmetic change and would make the game a great deal easier on older eyes.

Flipping it on or off would be too easy to not offer the option.

Thanks for the video, Pap.

You're welcome!

What did you think of it, though? I may be slowly going insane but I think they made Bowser faster...

Actually, it's a bit too small to tell (and there's a NASTY glare) but from the looks of him, he doesn't appear to be changed and he seems to be getting his ass whomped around, as is the status quo for the poor bugger, I'm afraid.

Remember, the guy said that he was getting his ass kicked due to inexperience. I mean, the story would've been different if you were playing as Bowser.

Also, it seems people are having issues with both controller options. Some think the classic controller is better, while others think the Wii mote option is actually really good. So maybe, control issues have something to do with it.

I've been watching videos all day and it seems that no one has been able to get the hang of Brawl.

7 minutes of footage at Gamespot!

~ Three different taunts confirmed!

Cool I actually called caught something early for a change!

Also there seems to be more of a scale difference between characters this time around, or maybe it's just me.

Yeah, it looks that way.

I guess I'll finally be able to take my Bowser skillz online and get his scaly ass stomped come Feb, right?

Wait, the Gamespot 7 minute video is just the same presentation from earlier!

Although it is MUCH higher quality, and once again, the game looks smoother.

The overall character movement looks slower than Melee.

Maybe certain characters have just slowed down in order to create a clearer speed gradient between them and other characters.

Diddy looks hella fast, for example, but Samus and Link seem even floatier. Even Sonic looks floaty.

Sakurai did say that Diddy would be a very unique character, so maybe that's the case.

A few thoughts after watching some vids:

1. I like how the Smash Ball floats around.

2. The character portraits by the damage percentage are pretty unnecessary though I like how they become transparent so as not to block the action. Such a simple idea took some 8 years to implement...

3. Was the beam sword blue? It sure looked like it. "George Lucas is gonna sue somebody..."

4. Still haven't been able to confirm if swimming has made it in the game, but I'm assuming it hasn't. If all you could do was swim and jump, that would open up gameplay possibilities. For example, you see an item floating there in the water and you want it but you'll be a sitting duck, open to projectile attacks and opponents jumping after you to hit you right before you get the item.

5. Color palettes are back... though I'm still holding out for alternate costumes.

6. The Metroid stage has basically been exactly the same through all 3 games with lava/acid (or is that Fuel Gel?) rising/falling. You'd think they'd try something different. Lava seems to come from the sides too... but it's still all too familiar. And I know I'm nitpicking, but shouldn't everyone except Samus lose health in Norfair due to the extreme heat and lack of the Varia Suit.

Where is the video/picture that confirms Mac as an assist?

I'm curious to see how he looks...

Remember Sakurai's "I want more aerial combat" comment?  This is probably how it was applied...I think it's pretty cool...

If he was going to sue, he would've done it in 1999, when they introduced the Beam Sword (in fact, I remember they took out the "whoosh" sound effect for the N64 game because they were afraid of legal action. Lucasfilms does not have the rights for it just it's blue; weren't most of the lightsabers green anyway? I'm probably wrong but...yeah.

1) It's the most exciting of the different ways they could represent the Metroid world, since it's mostly caves; also, one could say that the Melee stage was really just a remake of the N64 one anyway. 2) You're right, you're nitpicking. Shouldn't Bowser always be killed when he touches lava because in Super Mario Bros., that's what always happens in the castle levels? No.

Nah, you got me all wrong. The "George Lucas is gonna sue somebody..." is right from Jay and Silent Bob Strikes back, hence why I put the line in quotation marks. I simply wanted to point out the color change; I don't think Lucas would actually sue for that. Think of how much money he'd lose if Lucas Arts lost the license to publish games on Wii and missed the biggest opportunity of having a Wii remote lightsaber game.

I was also joking about Varia Suit thing... but I do think that the stage is too familiar for its own good. They definitely could've done something more original (that didn't suck as much as Brinstar Depths in Melee, apologies to anyone who liked that stage).

So am I. I hope it is not the supposed Little Mac from Super Punch-Out!! on the SNES, because he was not really Mac at all, in fact he was unnamed if I remember correctly. It better be Mac from the NES game is all I am saying.

Or that freaky mutant they had in the recent Fight Night or whichever boxing game it was.

And yes, I too like the aerial combat focus. It makes the game overall slower yet still complex in the fact that you'll spend more time watching out for danger from all sides.

I'm sure you'll be able to set the item frequency, but I agree that it seems like far too often for those to appear.
