Did anyone notice how fast Donkey Kong's Helicopter spin went? And he gained so much more distance than he ever did.

I notice once again Yoshi is riding someones back. Has anyone else noticed this from other characters? I suspect this maybe a new special move of his, maybe while standing and he pounds the ground he rides your back and controles you. Basicly doing to everyone else what they use to do to him.

I'm guessing it's his footstool jump, but I could be wrong.

I'm surprised no one has brought this up. The Yoshi's Island stage has been updated. The stage now features two chain chomps on each side of the stage.

This was how the stage looked like before the playable demos:

Even when the new features have been announced they are still working on them!

I was watching some of the new demo videos again and on the intro screen it has: (C) 2007 Nintendo/ HAL Laboratory Inc.

Now I'm confused. I thought HAL Labs wasn't developing the game and that the development team was still a secret for who knows why. Is HAL the real developer and they kept it a secret for no reason whatsoever? Maybe HAL getting co-development credit for handing over Melee's code and other production materials? If HAL Labs happens to be the developer (which is fine, don't get me wrong), it just seems totally unnecessary that they'd keep it a secret.... though what was all this about?

The development team = Sakurai + HAL + a bunch of EAD guys + Secret Dev team...As for why they haven't been revealed yet, I do not know...Perhaps they'll have a secret character of their own?

Edit: Rope snake in action!

Interesting, I never heard about a secret developer in addition to Hal. I wonder how many people are working on the game? My guess is that the team is bigger than even the team that did Melee.

I kinda figured Kirby and Metaknight were their contributions.

I thought that the "secret" developer was Sakurai's own dev group Sora, which I remember being confirmed I just do not remember where.

But I wonder, if the game says (C) 2007 Nintendo/ HAL Laboratory Inc. then maybe Sakurai has rejoined HAL and Sora has been absorbed. Although that is improbable.

This happened a lot during Melee's development as well. Some trophies were changed, I believe that the Brinstar stage was changed, and I believe a few of the characters moves were changed. That said remember that the Yoshi's Island stage is supposed to have a season based rotation and the video you saw may have only shown one of the season based versions of the stage, and also keep in mind they may not have had the changing effect completely ready for the demo. That is not to say that the stage may/probably have/has been changed.

That's weird, I could've sworn I saw a gameplay video in which they played on the Yoshi stage and the stage change d seaons.

Well in that case you are right and they have changed the stage .

I should have mentioned it in my earlier blurb but I have not seen any video being played on Yoshi's Island so I was speculating from a position of ignorance, and as such was unaware of any seasonal changes they may have occurred and was thinking that the reason for a stage hazard to appear may have been something along the lines of each season having its own obstacles.

The stage may have even had those changes implemented when that "bare" screen was shown, considering the possibility that the stage starts off empty before everything starts getting hectic...

New tidbits!

~ Screw Attack will stick to your chest so you can grab another item and still use the Screw Attack.
~ If you do a dodge in the air, you can still do a jump afterwards
~ Sin & Punishment Assist Trophy. She shoots and slashes at whoever is closest to her. (Sounds like Airan)

(I think the guy who wrote the article confused Sonic's Up+B with a new item, though it CAN be used by other players...And he needs to play more Star Fox, apparently...And Pokemon...And I assume "Poison Flower" is Lip's Stick...Come on guy, learn some Nintendo...)

Okay, I think the new Pokemon he described are, in order:

~ Kyogre (seen in the Dojo clip)
~ Latios/Latias
~ Torchic (also seen in the Dojo clip)
~ Piplup

Also, finally some info on Zero Suit Samus' Final Smash:

"Finally, Zero Suit Samus's Final Smash is just getting her suit back and also radiating a lot of energy around her that will hurt you, but won't do significant damage."

I thought you could only perform a Final Smash once per match?

...

You know what I've discovered? Reading the Japanese site (translated by google) is much more fun than reading the english site.

English:

While playing the game, you might encounter an interesting situation. At times like this, you must PAUSE!

If that pause in the action makes for an interesting shot that you wish you could keep, then by all means, do so. Take a SNAAAAAAAPSHOT!

Ok so does that snake mean that Lucas has is own move set apart from Ness or is it just his version of the yoyo?

I have been keeping my eyes locked on anything Lucas does in the video's we've been given so far to see if he is a Ness clone or not. But of course the development team is being very smart about it, and the only thing we can clearly see him do is very nondescript walking and jumping.
