All the crap that's moving around the levels (enemies, environment, etc) is amazing.

It's like Pikmin art style taken to a new level and used in an action game.

I'm sold.

Developer Walkthrough 2

This game is looking AWESOME. At first I was all scratching my head and wondering why I wanted to play Monkey Ball again... but this is NOT the game I thought it was. It looks fresh, it looks fun, and you can turn into an icey whirligig of death or a thundercloud of FRIGGIN DOOM! I have an older cousin who recently got the Wii, and as soon as I saw this footage, I IMMEDIATELY thought of her.

I hope this game does well, and I REALLY hope that it gets into the hands of a lot of new gamers and non-gamers because it looks perfect for them! (and me. Did I not mention the thundercloud of doom?)

Edit: But... Game|Life disagrees with me. T_T

It all works just fine and the concepts are solid enough, but it just wasn't any fun. It wasn't nearly as cute or as endearing as it has to be in order for you to overlook the "meh" gameplay. If the Eaus were particularly adorable, or if Dewy himself was more charming, perhaps then we'd care more about his Adventure, but based on what I played today, it's fairly unappealing.

Yeah, I saw the Game|Life preview.  I'm tempted to chalk it up to personal taste, but then again, she mentioned that there was no line to play the game.

I'm still awaiting further previews before making any conclusions.
That's my opinion, not yours.

Thanks to Game|Life:

Can you tell us a little bit about the multiplayer part?

The multiplayer is up to four players. Basically it is a co-op type of game. You play with four Dewys on a split screen. There is also an edit mode where you can edit a map and upload it on Wii Connect and let your friends download it.

Did you read that?

Can someone sum up this game in three sentences for me?

Not to sound lazy, but I don't really feel motivated to look this game up. Maybe after digesting someone's paraphrasing, I might find it in myself to do a little research.

Dewy's Adventure is a tilt/platformer where you control Dewy, a water droplet with the power to change not only his own temperature(turning from water droplet into ice block or thunder cloud), but the environment's as well in his quest to fight pollution. You move by tilting the controller ala Monkey Ball, and you can use the wiimote in retro-style to control Dewy through his quest against the evil Don Hedron! Coming to a Wii near you on September 4, 2007!

Wow this game looks amazing!! Look how crisp and colourful those screenshots are!! And anything that's like Monkey Ball is a winner in my books so this game is like GOLD. It's just the sounds that worry me...no not the music, that's cool. It the WEEEE's and AAA's...but those are just minor worries anyway.

Well done! My interest has peeked!

Though not enough (yet) to actually check it out.

Then again if there is multiplayer, I definitely might have to do some re-conscience.

I... I have to give this one caveat. Dewy sounds like he's voiced by a 2-year old. But if you can get past your latent age-ism, then don't worry about that.

Wiifolder.com tells us the Top 10 Reasons that Dewey Completely Rocks.

This is an AWESOME preview, and it's got me so excited for the game. Also, it's just... it's just awesome. *ahem* If I may quote:

Quote

Now some people might argue that Dewy's adventure is too cute for it's own good, those people have a very common disease called dumb-ass-itis... the enemies are big, badass mean guys.... They're too macho to play Dewy's Adventure right? Well, Wrong. You see there's one very important thing that makes you a man: it's dangling in your pants. If you have one of those, You're a man and you can play any game you want no matter how cute it is. That's good news isn't it?

Also, 7 bosses, 7 minibosses, and a level referred to by the reviewer as "The Gauntlet" which has the sole purpose of throwing enemies at you. Also, seeing the edit mode is awesome, and I can't wait to make my own levels and send it to people.

Now, everyone on my friends list can expect some Dewey's adventure postcards when I get around to finding some neat photos to take in Dewy's Adventure that I can send to the Wii Message Board!

So does Konami deserve our dollars, or is this just another piece of poor audience generalization, whose market failure will lead to Konami's demise since the low sales won't be able to help FUND MGS4?

I really like the game thus far in style and level design, however I do have a few complaints.

- The controls are a little wacky. Sometimes they feel too loose, other times not sensitive enough. Perhaps this is just a result of not playing the game much yet, but it is a little tough at times to navigate to certain areas.

- The camera moves along with the level when you tilt the Wiimote. It is extremely disorienting at times and seems to me like they should have disconnected the two, or at least give you the option to disconnect the two.

I am still at the very start of the game so I can't say my complaints are totally valid yet. Overall though, I really like the game. It seems like a mashup of a bunch of games I really liked in the past (Pikmin, Kirby's Dream Course, Super Monkey Ball). As I play more tonight I will put up more impressions.

From what I've heard the levels don't have any checkpoints and if you die you have to start from the beginning.

Truth. I had this happen on the first boss. Kind of annoying, for right now it isn't a huge issue, but I can imagine as the game ramps up in difficulty this can become quite annoying.

After my first play session with this game, I got a whole lote more sure of myself when playing it. Beat the first big boss and now I've just beaten the second miniboss!

Incidentally, this game seems remarkably finicky and unforgiving in terms of some patches of difficulty. It surprsies me, because I thought that this game would be developed with children in mind. Or do I really just suck that much? I fell off the stage 6 times at one point, then my roommate grabbed the wiimote and executed it perfectly on his first attempt playing the game... I think I really do just suck at this, I'm probnably overcompensating whenever I want to stop Dewy from sliding one direction.

Also, this game is awesome for a bunch of little things. For i9nstance, I can take screencaps, just like in Metroid Prime 3! I can add borders too.

And the game posts hints right up in your Wii message board! After beating the first boss, it posted a message containing a hint on how to deal with one of his patterns and also gave me a wicked cool screenshot of the boss that I plan on sending you all as a Dewy postcard when I think of a caption for it!
