After my first play session with this game, I got a whole lote more sure of myself when playing it. Beat the first big boss and now I've just beaten the second miniboss!

Incidentally, this game seems remarkably finicky and unforgiving in terms of some patches of difficulty. It surprsies me, because I thought that this game would be developed with children in mind. Or do I really just suck that much? I fell off the stage 6 times at one point, then my roommate grabbed the wiimote and executed it perfectly on his first attempt playing the game... I think I really do just suck at this, I'm probnably overcompensating whenever I want to stop Dewy from sliding one direction.

Also, this game is awesome for a bunch of little things. For i9nstance, I can take screencaps, just like in Metroid Prime 3! I can add borders too.

And the game posts hints right up in your Wii message board! After beating the first boss, it posted a message containing a hint on how to deal with one of his patterns and also gave me a wicked cool screenshot of the boss that I plan on sending you all as a Dewy postcard when I think of a caption for it!

Ah whatever, I haven't had any time to play any videogames at home (DS ftw) so I guess I will get it when I feel like I have time.

Nope, already shipped!

Also, shame on you out there who didn't pre-order. SHUNNNnnnnnnn~

My local Gamestop/EB only got two copies of the game in and sold out that first day. More people should've pre-ordered to encourage more retailer orders!

Not according to my local EB, I went there twice, first time they said it would come today, and the second time (today) he checked the system and it said October 1 I think, wierd, I know. I checked Amazon.ca, futureshop.ca, bestbuy.ca and they too say what IceCold said, September 25, I "pre-ordered" it from Amazon.ca along with the purchase of Sonic R.A. and Luminous Arc, free shipping, so in a bazillion months I will get the game/s.

Another neat thing about this game: using the vapor form Dewy to escape enemies... or to increase Dewy's altitude, then switch to water form and grab something that's higher that Dewy could reach by jumping!

I am really starting to hate this game, especially since I WANT to enjoy it but the controls keep me from it. I'm sorry but Tilt controls do not work in a game that requires platforming like this game does. I personally would have preferred the analog stick for the controls, at least then it wouldn't be so finicky.

Lol, I guess if you enjoyed a game like Super Monkey Ball for Wii, you may find something to like here, but personally I despise the tilt controls, especially for what you have to do. In a game like Excite Truck tilt controls were fine because you didn't need to be super precise, but here you need to. Heck even Sonic and the Secret Ring's tilt controls were better than these.

My roommate had no troubles with the controls the first time he tried it. He even swept right over a convoluted bridge that I'd fallen down 6 times prior. I'm going to try his recommendation of using A as a brake instead of counter-tilting to stop, and see if that solves some of my unnecessary errors.

Hahahahahaha NO. And I LIKED Sonic and the Secret Rings!

Sonic had very strange implementations of detecting whether the Wiimote was rotated forward or back, which was the major fault of them. It required you to do more of an arc with the controller. One of the first things I noticed about Dewy is that it has ZERO problems with detecting controller tilt. Dewy's challenges stem from:

1. Your using tilt to control what is essentially a platform game, an added layer of difficulty you need to master in order to survive the game.
2. Some Camera angles and stage design conspire to make you misread jumps and mistakenly leap to your doom.

Sadly, I'd think that these very real difficulties make the game too hard to play past the first couple stages for people who are new to gaming and/or inexperienced. Dewy is the sort of difficulty level that Ian wishes all games should be, because newbies should be expected to perfect a game as much as we do.

A game should not be difficult because of controls. THis is one of those games that could have utilized the analog stick for better results, kind of like monkey ball for GC, which utilized tilt.

Tell that to Resident Evil 1-4 (non-Wii).

But seriously, I agree that the game isn't perfect. I'm quite disappointed in some of Konami's execution here. But it's nowhere near the level of suck your play experience seems to be. &P

I disagree immensely. I've become infinitely more proficient and gained far more enjoyment from Dewy's controls than any of the RE games, pre-Wii. (actually, I haven't got my RE4 Wii yet... gotta call Amazon...)

I'm not saying that Dewy's control scheme is in any ways laudable, just vastly more impressive than RE's old control schemes. And if you were able to survive those controls, what makes Dewy such an affront to your sensibility?

Maybe because in RE I didn't slide off into a pit after jumping onto a platform, or accidentally jump while fighting the controls and fall into a hole. Or worse yet get killed by an enemy or boss who are really quite easy under normal control schemes, but now cause you trouble when attacking them, and when they kill you have to start the same frustrating level all over again. I'm beginning to think that the sales of Dewy in Japan are justified. It is too bad that Konami couldn't have funded a game that did something truly unique with the Wiimote, but instead created yet another tilt game for Wii, which is ALMOST as bad as companies using the Wiimote for waggle controls. Let's get some creative and charming games with style (which the game does have) that utilizes the Wiimote for something unique.
