I'd post a hype train .gif here but it specifically calls out NeoGAF so it wouldn't be appropriate.

4Chan Cafe "Leak"
« Reply #3808 on: April 25, 2011, 09:28:22 PM »
I'm only posting this because i Don't want someone else to get their hopes up and come in here to post it.

*This is more than likely complete and total bullshit - Fanboy fantasy leak*

This is a 4chan leak making it's rounds on IGN boards and whatnot.
4chan / IGN Boards
Quote
More leaks about Project Cafe:

- Nintendo are planning a full reveal of the console, controller and 1st/2nd party games at E3.

- The console is confirmed to be backwards compatible with all Wii/Gamecube titles, and all your VC games will be transferred over once you link your credit card to the system.

- Many 3rd party developers have development kits who are supposedly hard at work to have something to show (and play) at E3.

- 3rd Parties were involved with the development of the console, with requests for what specifications they'd like to see. As of now (which could change) the system runs of a custom built IBM triple-core CPU and has 2gb RAM. The graphics chip is a custom built Radeon R700 chip.

- There is an internal SSD. Size is unknown at this point.

- It will run natively at 1080p.

- The new controller slightly resembles a Gamecube controller with a large LCD screen in the middle of it. The controller is light for its size and looks like a tablet with Gamecube-like prongs to the side. It has dual analogue sticks, face buttons, d-pad and shoulder buttons. No triggers were on the device.

- The screen on the controller is indeed a 6" LCD high resolution (reported 640 x 960 pixels) display. However, Nintendo said in order to keep battery life manageable, the controller doesn't have any hardware to produce graphics itself. The image is simply a video stream directly from the console.

- The controller uses rechargeable lithium ion batteries. Size of the battery is unknown.

- The Wiimote can be used and a new model of Wiimote will be released with the console. This new controller will have overhauled internals allowing for much more precise movement tracking than even the Wiimote Plus had.

- The Project Cafe system development kit is not representative of the final console design. The console is smaller and resembles the Japanese/European SNES models.

- Nintendo have told developers that their online system will be 'the best online experience' that's available on consoles. The whole idea of the machine is to be connected to the internet 24/7. It's being targeted as an online/social console. Friend codes are gone, but no word on whether the online service will be subscription based.

- The Pokemon RPG is the title Nintendo will be showing off their online experience with.

- As reported by other sources, Nintendo is targeting this console to the hardcore gamers once again.

- Nintendo is planning on some sophisticated inter-game communication between the 3DS and the console. Nintendo didn't explain what they're planning on.

To be shown at E3:

Nintendo:
- Pikmin 3 (playable, launch title)
- Pokemon RPG (video, launch or near launch title)
- Super Mario Bros title (playable)
- Star Fox (playable)
- Smash Bros 4 (playable)
- Mario Kart (video)
- Zelda (tech demo)
- Metroid (tech demo)
- New IP (video)

Rockstar Games:
- Red Dead Redemption 2 (video)
- Grand Theft Auto "New Title" (video)

Ubisoft:
- Rayman Legends (playable)
- Red Steel 3 (playable)
- New IP (video)

SquareEnix:
- Final Fantasy XV

Capcom:
- Resident Evil (video)
- Megaman (video)
- Monster Hunter (video)

EA:
- NBA '13 (video)
- NFL '13 (video)
- NHL '13 (video)

Activision:
- Modern Warfare 3 (video)

Konami:
- Metal Gear title (video)
- Winning Eleven (video)

Namco:
- Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (playable)
- Soul Calibur 5 (video)
- Pacman Rebirth (video)

As lovely as all that sounds, I don't believe any of it.
but Custom R700 and 2GB ram sound good.

all your VC games will be transferred over once you link your credit card to the system.
That won't work. That excludes games that were purchased using Wii Points cards or with different credit cards.

Like he said, it's most likely bullshit - but having the games linked to your console, which is linked to your credit card, could credit all of your games to download again on the new system, no matter how they were purchased.

some interesting stuff. Nintendo works on alot of things, that don't necessarilly come out right away. I remember something like this in the pre wiimote anouncement era. Some patents were found. MAybe this is the maturation of those ideas.

Rareware to make 3DS games?

ok, good.

Nintendo in talks with MS & Rare to get some Rareware games on 3DS?
http://gameolosophy.com/consoles/rumor-rareware-on-3ds-future-of-metroid/
Diddy Kong? Banjo Kazooie? Star Fox Adventures?

I'm not even gonna quote it, but if your interested, there is the link.

They also mention 3rd party ports (already mentioned)
Retro not making Metroid, but a new Metroid is not out of the question.
Earthbound..... (lol)
& a colorful  HD game from Nintendo (who woulda thought?)

I'm not liking this. Even if its 64GB its just not going to be enough. There should at least be the option to install a HDD, even if Nintendo doesn't want to include one by default. The drive bay should be there.

Not only would I be willing to buy all of their remakes on 3DS, but why stop there? If Microsoft will allow their IPs to be on 3DS then why not the VC for either Wii or Wii 2? If the Wii 2 were to launch with Rare N64 games on the VC then I would scream and holler until I got the DAMN system. I will be keeping an eye on this one for further information.

That article also goes on to mention how third party developers might port over their PS360 games to the Wii 2 and since I have missed every single HD game like Dead Space 2, Mass Effect 2 and all the other good games, I have no problem with this what so ever. Hell, bring them all over and I will but them all.

I have to admit that I have not been this fired up over a post in a long time. Thank you BnM.

The vitality sensor could work great in a survival horror game. It could sense how freaked out you are and the game could respond accordingly.

The vitality sensor has so many uses. It just has to be inobtrusive. Imagine having a character walk up to a cliff and it opens up to a beautiful vista. If you don't react, then maybe a flock of birds/creatures suddenly swoosh up past the cliff, but if you are just in awe of the site, the birds slowly come out of the distance. Geeze, I don't get why people don't like the idea of it. Its the ultimate **** with you game changer mechanic. Especially if they really are considering Eternal Darkness 2.

Because their are people like me whose heart rate really isn't worth a darn for mood.  I'm waiting on smell personally.  I do think this would be a neat concept incorporated into the controller.

In response to BlacknMild's long, most-likely-completely-speculative-fanboy-BS post, I can definitely see the potential link between the code name "Project Cafe" and a strong emphasis on online. "Cafe" just seems to evoke that social feeling.

Apparently the Wii is not worth stealing. Some writer at Kotaku.com had a break-in recently and the burgler took all of his systems except for his Wii. Has the Wii hit rock bottom?

I saw this on NeoGAF a few days ago. I think it fits your description perfectly

Quote from: GDGF
It's because you've got a server...

...streaming out four cups of gaming (possibly ala carte)

...to you and three of your friends in a social atmosphere.

That's what I think anyway.

As far as that 4chan "leak" goes, nothing about it sounds too far fetched (besides an SSD) until you get to the games. Well one game in particular atleast. That is where things start to sound unbelievable.

Pokemon MMO flagship Nintendo online title - we've been asking for that for far too long to believe it's actually gonna happen.

EA showing of 2013 sports titles when 2012 sports titles haven't even been released yet also sounds off, but maybe some tech demos
