I wouldn't call the GBA dead just yet, I'd give it 1-2 more years. But I get Ian's point. ipod aside, this constant revision is getting old. When I traded in my original GBA, I only got 27 dollars for it, lighting device included. Granted this buffered my expense for an SP to a certain degree, but I'm not in the mood to do it again. I'm willing to bet I'll get less than 20 for my SP this time around...
Now I don't expect Nintendo to just let current owners 'upgrade' for nothing, but maybe offer an incentive. Maybe like send it back to Nintendo, you get a voucher to get the better SP up to 25-35 percent off. That sounds fair doesn't it? Won't happen though, Nintendo is hell-bent on making a profit.
[off topic] While we're talking about screens, any tips on how to clean them? I'd rather not waste a thread on that topic. [/off topic]
