Demand is MASSIVE! According to that article they only shipped 80,000 DS Lites nationwide today, WTF?

Wake up to an email from Lik Sang (yay my order shipped!) telling me that I'm paying $30 more and my order *hasn't* shipped (noooo).

According to IGN, Nintendo is shipping 450,000 DS Lites to Japan this week, and 100,000 standard DS systems. I'm guessing sell-through for the week will be in the range of...550,000 units.

There was a forum member (site owner actually) at EvilAvatar.com who said way back in the begining, before the DS or PSP were even released, that "the DS doesn't have anything, at all, anyone would want" (Yes, he is a heavy PSP fan.) Needless to say i've had fun being able to poke fun at him for that comment. And we still have the launch of Ice Blue and Enamal Navy to weather....

I wonder if that would work. I know there's a market for importing in North America but is there in Japan?

Welcome to the club.

It went up, but I don't even care. I was thinking of canceling but then I saw that damn beautiful blue case and the "Tech lust" kicked back into high gear.

I don't spend much money so I'm not worried about it, but it's a good thing Nintendo doesn't sell cars or helicopters or something.

In fact, I actually remove it using the firefox extention, Remove-it-permantly. Which is normally for use against combating Ad heavy websites. Or the kind that will place large obtrusive ads in the middle of an article

Personal anecdote: I recently went on vacation (!!) In our group there were three DSs and three PSPs. Outside of our group I noticed zero PSPs and probably around five different people with DSs. Every one of those DSs was being played by a young girl (around 8-11 I would estimate). Just thought I'd throw that out there since that's about the same number of girls I've seen playing GBAs in my life (or any portable game systems, actually).

I don't know, it could be quite the contrary. Maybe not in your example, but people are usually more comfortable about a situation that deals with their body when they know what the hell is going on.
