To be fair, if I were going under the knife, I'd be inclined to give the head surgeon a three minute lecture on how he better not be a "f*cking noob" at this...

If his lip quivered even once during the lecture, I'd demand a different surgeon.

Later this month. I'd buy it, but I suck at Tetris.

"Patients have even been encouraged by some of the hospitals to buy a DS and the Brain Training games so that they may continue their mind stimulation regimen at home. "The game won't cure dementia. But it's a good form of stimulation -- especially for old people living alone," said Dr. Takeshi Kihara, a neuropsychiatrist at the clinic."

So that why old people have been lining up for the DSlite

Could doctors prescribe a DS?

Doctors can prescribe anything they want, I doubt most medical insurance plans are going to cover then though. Plus, look at this from the article: Hospitals there are "renting them out"!

I've heard of the medical community recommending video games before (popular in the 1980's for doctors to recommend video games as a treatment for children with poor hand-eye coordination), but this goes one step further, and they're renting them out as though they were an actual medical device.

Given the recent shortage though, I wonder how many older gamers are faking early-onset dementia just so they can rent one.

"No, bad Kramer! BAD KRAMER!!!!"

Dammit, I might have to pick up brain training now, not because I'm an old person, but so many of the new DS games trigger the "morbid curiosity" response that it's ridiculous.

Sure, when the diagnosis involves a test. "Crazy old man who wants to play video games" probably passes the diagnosis stage pretty easily.

Media Create Feb 27 - March 5

01 PS2 Gundam Clamix U.c. - 157,000 / 157,000
02 NDS Seiken Densetsu CoM - 103,000 / 103,000
03 PS2 Sengoku Musou 2 (Samurai Warrior) - 98,000 / 425,000
04 NDS Braining Age 2 - 91,000 / 1,434,000
05 NDS Animal Crossing WW - 77,000 / 2,035,000
06 PSP Valkyrie Profile - 70,000 / 70,000
07 PS2 Devil Summoner Raidou - 64,000 / 64,000
08 NDS English DS Training - 53,000 / 574,000
09 NDS Braining Age - 51,000 / 1,642,000
10 PS2 Monster Hunter 2 - 26,000 / 442,000

Flop of Mana's sales were pretty much destroyed by Nintendo, the shortages all make sense now. All Nintendo care about it having all the top selling Nintendo DS games be by them. This has also let yet ANOTHER PSP game swing into the top 10, a game that nobody would have even looked at if the DS supplies were existant. DS Lite hardware is probably going to have the lowest debut sales since Xbox 360.

You do realize Mario is joking, right? Any time Mario posts numbers his dissenting commentary is in jest. You know Nintendo being doomed and all....

I agree its gotten old, its like with the M. Night Shamylan movies and the surprise twist at the end, the first few times he did it it was cool but after that it starts to get annoying.

I'm not sure if that's a typo of the word horse or whore.  Either way, it made me laugh.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I wanted to write horse but considering Mario's infatuation with the GTA games the other option seems more appropriate.
