DS: 52,099
PSP: 27,430
PS2: 23,433
GBASP: 5553
GBM: 2941
GC: 1814
Xbox 360: 1314
GBA: 105
Xbox: 92

Well.... where on earth did this DS hardware boost come from? Sales are up x5 over last week, and it's right before the DS Lite launch, are consumers so angry at the Lites existance they're buying normal DS's in protest?  Hardware gains + software decrease means people are now buying less games for their DS, which also supports the protest. Third Parties with upcoming DS games can't be too happy about this.

I'll stop soon... it's just so easy, the posts write themselves

I cannot WAIT to see the numbers in two weeks. Selling the DSL should be like selling young Japanese women to American teenagers. JUST TOO EASY.

Weird boost there.  Any chance that counts DSL pre-sells?

Nope. If so it'd be much higher

I think it's just a case that the week before DS's were pretty much extinct and last week Nintendo shipped a couple and everyone grabbed them. I've never seen a phenomenom like this before...

Isn't that what Curb Your Enthusiasm is?

I'd say partially. It's more of...a long running documentary and the making of.

Actually it puts Nintendo in a very good position, in that once the new model is released they can sell it for more (initially) even though it most likely costs less to make and wont have any excess old stock lying  around.
If anything the PSP must be realy doing shiiit if Nintendo can sell that may DS's when the new one is just around the corner.

And your prediction that the DS would sell in four figures this week you stated as fact?

You know, it really is amazing. You cannot understate it. 50,000 units without a single new game, and they're still not fully stocked.

Apparently Nintendo are only shipping 300,000 DS Lites to stores on the launch week, looks like they really have given up...

This next week should be fascinating. They could conceivably sell over 300,000 DS units (old and new). Pretty unbelieveable...

For all its genericness (peanuts, pretzels, caramel, peanut butter, chocolate... brilliant!) it's pretty good. Still can't unseat the champ, the pinnacle, the greatest of all time; the 5th Avenue. Pimpin'.

DS getting absolutely destroyed by a 6 year old system. Word is that they shipped less than 100,000 DS Lites for the DSL launch too (after the two colours were delayed), which is just stupid, they'll never catch up to PSP at this rate. Reggie needs to come into their production plants and kick some ass, Nintendo Japan are the ones killing the DS.
