PSP is friggin destroying gaming as we know it. HOW THE HELL is it selling so much hardware with ONE GAME in the top THIRTY? It outsold Wii which has 6 games in the top 10. Makes me SICK!

People that already have the PSP are upgrading to the version(PSP Slim) that allows TV out so that they can play their portable games on the big screen.

And you are probably right. This means that the PSP sales will gradually taper off once everyone who wishes to upgrade has done so. The revision has certainly given a boost to hardware sales, but the PSP game sales remain just as weak as ever.

Don't forget that the Red PSP Slim also has a bundle pack that comes with the 1-Seg TV tuner so that you can watch TV on the go. Not that that is the reason to why they are selling, but another reason to probably pick one up.

I'll admit the psp slim is pretty slick looking, and I think a lot of people are buying it just for that reason. The question is, why aren't they buying games to play on this piece of jewelry?

The only possibilities are that they either use it to pirate stuff, or they just put it on a shelf and let it collect dust. I guess a third possibility is that they are using it for the UMD movies. I don't really know, but it is possible they are actually successful in Japan unlike in the west. Does anyone have any sales figures on UMD movies in Japan? I realize they wouldn't be included in the game charts.

Or maybe they just wear it on a chain around their neck and show it off like it is bling....

With Brawl coming out, there will be a sharp spike in Wii owners; thus allowing for more patrons to purchase the pleasantly plump plumber's game.

I would have expected Star Ocean would have done better coming off of FFVII:CC, but I guess it and probably the remake of the second S.O. game will probably end up selling about as well as S.O III.
