So I expect Zelda to get no higher than 500,000 in Japan.

Which is why New Super Mario Bros. is the highest selling individual DS game, right? (second if you count the two Pokemon games as one)

Did you read my entire post?

I was actually going to put RPGs rather than Final Fantasy but screwed it up.

Oops, I did miss the minus part. But still. They've proven repeatedly they will buy regular games.

Zelda is already past 300,000 you really think it won't pass 500?

Wait a minute.  How do you know it has sold 300,000 in Japan?  I didn't see any numbers for it.

I was probably over by about 20-30,000, but still. It sold about 140,000 its first week and has sold 20,000-50,000 each week since then putting it at 250,000 or slightly over. That would've been a week ago yesterday so it's around 300,000 now. VGCharts has more specific numbers but I trust M-Create more and Famitsu. It's been low on the chart but the top 20-30 have all been really close. There's just no way it won't pass 500,000.

It would be awesome if Nintendo completed windwaker with the 2 dungeons back in and added wiimote functionality just like TP. I'd buy it again fo sho.

15 Rockman Star Force - 46,750   (249,250)
16 Wario Ware Smooth Moves - 41,250 (205,250)
17 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 34,750 (292,000)
18 Mario Kart DS 33,000   (2,024,000)
20 Brain Training (30,750   3,273,250)

DS - 294,750

Notables:
-Moving DQIX to the DS is looking like a brilliant move toe S-E right now.
-NSMB and Animal Crossing have both crossed 4 million.
-Zelda will hit 300,000 next week. It's current attach rate is 28% which isn't the same as here, but is very strong considering a larger portion of Japanese non-gamers are buying the system.
-On that note, over one million Wiis sold in Japan!
-Mario Kart DS joins every other game in the series in the over two million copies club.

Are these the #'s from VGcharts?

actually I'm assuming that they are from Famitsu since Pokemon: D/P is combined.
supposedly last weeks Media-Create #'s come out today too.

Well, since you seem to be the only one who can find MC's numbers easily, I guess that is why we haven't seen them yet.

On a side note, ha, Zelda has not reached 300,000 yet.  Though I still believe others are right and it may hit 500,000 at some point.  It won't reach 1 million though.

Go Animal Crossing and Mario and next week, Brain Training 2 as well.

Oh and FYI, Mario Kart Super Circuit for the GBA did not reach 2 million in sales in Japan so not every game in the series has reached this milestone.

Common Knowledge Training is the next in an endless line of 1 million sellers for the DS.

I didn't think DQ Monsters would be that big, being a spin-off and all, but good going.

I read an article yesterday that said the DS was selling so well it was only sligtly less rare then the Wii in US stores.  I don't remember the link but this makes a lot of sense with people saying they couldn't find a ds lite.  The DS is simply unstoppable everywhere.

I think it's also considered the fastest selling system in Europe ever, just like in Japan.

I find it odd (hilarious) that PS3 sold close to as many systems as Wii sold, yet there are no games in the top 30 (and only five in the top 50).
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

It's amazing that the DSL nearly outsold the lifetime sales of the original GBA in only 9 months (or was it 8 months?).  It is a force that cannot be stopped anytime soon.  It may outsell lifetime sales of the Famicom at some point.

Yes, but the PS3 sold that many with many left in stores. The Wii sold that many and sold out.

Considering how many people buy a PS3 only to return it when they figure out that they don't sell on eBay I wouldn't be surprised if PS3 sales numbers were actually going DOWN at times.
