The GBM was always overpriced. It should have been priced as an inpulse buy at $39.99 and now later reduced to $34.99/$29.99. At $50/60/70 it was incredibly overpriced for what it was. I'm glad it bombed. Even if it does reach that magical price point though, I feel its already too late for the micro unless they have some sort of new advertising campaign for it.

I still want one...or at least I want someone to give me their serial number (as well as a DSPhat serial number) to complete my collection of all registerable Nintendo hardware.

Eh... Yea, I don't get the original $20 price increase over the SP. I don't agree with the 50/40/30/whatever price though. It would have been just fine at $80 as a final (and optional) reconfiguration of the GBA hardware. The SP doesn't *need* to be smaller and I can appreciate why some people would lash out at it, but I really enjoy its even more compact size and much higher quality screen.

If the GBMicro would have came out the same time as the SP when there was no DS I would have picked one up in a heartbeat because I like the feel better then the SP.  (Though if they would release an original style one with a DSLite quality screen I buy that right now.  I like the Ergonomics of the original GBA better then any other Handheld console made.  That I've played. (Whole GBA Line, Game Gear, Nomad, DS line. Game Watches.))

I LOVED the original GBA, and to this day it stands to me as the best designed handheld console ever. Period. Smooth to hold, -play and -look at. The DS Lite is almost as good, but only also almost. Pitty they didn´t include a backlight in the GBA when it first came out. The GBA SP, withthat backlight included, is strange to hold, and play as it nescessitates squeezing the elbows together to properly play and hold. Very uncomfortable.

In any event, they just confirmed that DS has sold 10.000.000 units in Europe alone, and that is sold units, not shipped units! I am thankfull that Nintendo is enjoying such a succes since it bodes well for the future of DS game releases!

The SP could be played one handed, especially with Pokemon. <3 SP clamshell!

Famitsu Jan. 22nd - 28th

Software:
1. PS2 Grand Theft Auto San Andreas - 200k
2. NDS Dragon Quest Monsters - 100k
3. NDS Sangokushi Taisen - 80k
4. NDS Picross DS - 70k
5. Wii Wii Sports - LTD >900k
6. NDS Hotel Dusk - 60k
7. NDS Wario Master of Disguise
8. NDS Pokémon Diamond/Pearl
9. PS2 Winter Pachinko 10
10. Wii Wii Play

360 Idolmaster ~25k
Enchanted Arms 15k

Hardware:
DSL ~200k
Wii ~80k
PS3 ~20k
360 ~7k

WOW @ GTA:SA, I didn't expect it to do that good in Japan,  pretty good start for Hotel Dusk
& DQM:J is back. I told you it was just an undershipment of games, S-E says "Don't be mad at us, but we could only get another 100k and won't have more for 2 more weeks "

Apparently Picross & Hotel Dusk are both pretty much sold out too as Nintendo is having issues producing enough physical DS games to actually fill publisher and consumer demands. I guess its just not a DS & Wii hardware thing anymore.

I'm hoarding all my money for the Wii right now, but I think I may be able to find a leak in the system to buy some of DS games, we're finally (in IMHO) starting to see High Quality DS games, there have been quality titles for a while, but now they're high. like me... lol anyway, i'm looking forward to Hotel Dusk, Pokemon, Star Fox, and Picross to name a few.

DS is still kicking everyones as$, I wonder if the Wii can overtake it?

Yay DQM!

That is amazing.  GTA:VC only sold 25,000 its initial week in Japan.  I guess this series has started taking off even in Japan now.

Hold on, if Wii Sports sold between 60-70k copies this last week and there were only 80k systems sold, does that mean there is a near 90% attach rate for the game at the moment?

Don't get me wrong, those are great games, but are they really "high" quality games when you compare them to the best DS ones?

I don't know about 90%, but it is certainly high perhaps 70-80%+. Both Wii Sports and Wii Play are nearly million sellers and over a million Wii have been sold.

Like what other games? My favorite DS games so far have been, Mario Kart, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Trauma Center, Age of Empires, and New Super Mario Bros. All good games but not what I would consider High Quality, in some respect yes, (like Wifi play in Mario Kart, and Metroid) but not completely.

Unofficial MC Hardware:
DSL ~190k
Wii ~80k
PSP ~37k
PS3 ~21k
PS2 ~19k
360 ~8k

It looks very close to the Famitsu #'s posted above.
and seeing weekly PS3 #'s staying so low, I'm now gonna guess that Europe is gonna have a HUGE launch now that Sony doesn't have to worry about shipping PS3's to Japan,  and depending on NPD has to say in about a week, possibly not having to ship as many to the U.S. either. Lucky Europe...

Yes but what will Sony do with all the 20GB ones? They're only selling the 600€ model here.
