I agree, great thread!
I also started out with the Atari 2600. That was gaming bliss. It brings back fond memories of my childhood.
I've actually been looking at ebay to pick one up again! I've had about every system or played them:
Atari 2600, 5200,(all the other Atari systems), Intellivision, Vectrex, Colecovision, Nes, Super Nes, Nintendo
64, Gameboy, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, Turbographix, Gamecube...etc, etc. Wish I had kept most of those systems...
Anyways, to stay on topic, it's nice to see the "older" gamers here speaking up and being heard. The only
people who are saying Nintendo "is teh kiddy" are the 13 year olds who don't know what a real video game
system is. Nintendo will always be number 1 in my heart.
It's funny, my father who is in his 50s just went to Gamestop(or whomever is formerly Funcoland) and picked up a used original NES system! It's funny because my dad doesn't really videogame too much. I suspect it comes from him retiring and having "extra time on his hands". I was glad he bought the NES.

Nintendo to me has always meant fun and quality and that's why they get my money!
